Birth and parents
A future member of the Cabinet of Ministers was born on December 25, 1967 in the Russian city of Kursk. Career start
It was after graduation that our hero found himself in Ukraine, and more specifically in Kiev. His first official place of work was the Paton Electric Welding Institute. Pavel Anatolyevich Klimkin spent two years as a researcher in this institution from 1991 to 1993. However, after that, a really sharp turn occurred in his life, which radically changed the scope of his subsequent activities.
Transition to a new level
From 1993 to 1997, Pavel Klimkin (his biography is interesting to many) worked as an attaché, as well as the third and second secretary of the Department for Military Control and Disarmament under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

Over the next six years, until June 2014, the politician managed to be the director of the EU Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the deputy minister of foreign affairs, the head of staff, and the ambassador to Germany.
High appointment
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin was on this post on June 19, 2014, and five days later he was introduced to the State Security Council.
He was able to keep his ministerial chair even after the resignation of the government under the leadership of Arseniy Yatsenyuk. It is worth noting here that Klimkin got into the Cabinet of Ministers according to the quota of the current president of the country, Poroshenko.
Attitude to a small homeland

As for the visa regime with the Russian Federation, Pavel Anatolyevich adheres to the position: the entry of Russians into Ukraine should be under strict control of the special services. All this, in his opinion, should prevent the penetration of Russian agents into the country, seeking to destabilize an already difficult situation. Although, in the summer of 2016, the politician spoke out that there would be no severance of diplomatic relations with Russia, since there are millions of Ukrainian citizens in the Federation, and the deterioration of relations between states will significantly complicate their lives.
Relations with Americans
How does Pavel Klimkin feel about the USA? His biography says that the minister appreciates the help that the States provide to the Ukrainian army. In his opinion, the military units of the Armed Forces, trained by American instructors, proved to be very good during the military operations in the east of the country. The politician also asked his overseas colleagues to continue to allocate money for military support to Ukraine.
A very big noise was made around the minister’s meeting with Trump. On May 10, 2017, Donald received Klimkin within the walls of the White House. The communication itself lasted only 6 minutes and, according to rumors, was lobbied for very big money by Ukrainian politicians. However, the official himself logically does not confirm this information and calls it false.
The scandal with Miho
On August 8, 2017, the ex-president of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili, whom Poroshenko had previously deprived of citizenship, proposed to the head of Ukraine to deprive the Ukrainian passport of another person - Klimkin. According to the Georgian, Pavel Anatolyevich is an ideal candidate to be without Ukrainian citizenship, since he was born in Russia and, quite possibly, has a Russian passport. The minister very calmly retorted to this attack that he, unlike some politicians, does not lie and considers Ukraine as his homeland.
Family status
Pavel Klimkin, whose family has always remained in the shadow of the views of society, is twice married. The first wife of the minister was Natalya Klimkina, who is currently the first secretary of the Ukrainian embassy in the Netherlands. From his first marriage, the politician has two sons who live with his mother in Holland.
The current wife of Pavel is the deputy head of the department of foreign policy and European integration under the Presidential Administration of Ukraine. Her name is Marina Yuryevna Mikhailenko, and she is the daughter of a Russian general who received an award for the return of Crimea to the Russian Federation in 2014. Since that time, the Klimkin couple has not maintained relations with a relative.
