The third generation Ignis is very different from the Suzuki Ignis II generation: the design of the car combines the features of a crossover and a hatchback. The impression of blurry borders between the two body types is due to the convex wheel arches and high ground clearance.
Exterior
The third generation Suzuki Ignis Adventure has significantly changed in appearance: the body features have become more rigorous and modern. The front part is distinguished by a large grille, in which optics are integrated.
The front bumper is divided into three parts: halogen fog lights with chrome trim are integrated into the side bumpers. The bottom of the bumper is equipped with a black plastic splitter.
In profile, the Suzuki Ignis stands out with front and rear massive wheel arches. Due to the fact that the door handles remained standard and were not portable, the car is more like a compact crossover, rather than a hatchback or coupe. There are rear-view mirrors on the doors, since they cannot be installed in the corner of the glass.
The design of Suzuki Ignis is somewhat spoiled by the design of the back: it looks somewhat toyish. The upper part is reserved for the trunk mirror. A rear view camera and a handle to open the boot lid are located in the center of the lid. Fog lights are located on the sides of the plastic insert in the central part of the bumper.
Depending on the choice of the car owner, the roof of the Suzuki Ignis can be made in black or painted in body color. Despite the popularity of the car, the manufacturer does not equip the model with a panoramic roof or sunroof in it.
Options
The Suzuki Ignis is offered in three trim levels and one hybrid version. In the basic and medium versions, halogen optics with circular daytime running lights are installed. The design of the car is emphasized by square-shaped optics and a chrome-plated radiator grille in black. The top of the range Suzuki Ignis comes with LED front optics.
Interior
Given that Ignis is a compact hatchback, the interior of the car is small. In the center of the front panel is a multimedia system with a seven-inch touch screen. The top equipment is equipped with AppleCarPlay and AndroidAuto systems.
Under the display of the multimedia system is the emergency parking button and the front airbag deactivation. The climate control panel is located just below. Heated front and rear windows are standard.
The three-spoke steering wheel is made in the classic Suzuki style and is multifunctional: it contains keys for controlling the multimedia system and other car systems.
In the center of the dashboard is an informative and large speedometer. On the right side is a monochrome display, which displays basic information about the condition of the car. The hybrid version of Suzuki Ignis is equipped only with a battery level indicator and an electronic fuel sensor that calculates the range based on average speed.
On the left side of the speedometer is a tachometer with circular sensors for hand brake, open doors and seat belts. The front panel of the Suzuki Ignis is generally attractive and ergonomic, but it does not differ in strict execution due to the round design of individual parts.
Upholstery is made only of high quality black fabric. Leather steering wheel trim. The rear row seats are divided among themselves, there is an armrest. Armchairs are configured in a fairly wide range, so passengers can comfortably accommodate in the car.
Technical specifications Suzuki Ignis
The line of powertrains of the third generation of the Ignis hatchback does not please with a special variety. There are two types of sixteen-valve engines to choose from: the 1.2 liter DualJet gasoline engine and the DualJet SHVS ENG A-Stop hybrid engine of the same volume.
The engines are equipped with a five-speed manual or automatic transmission. The drive is both full and front-wheel drive. The power of the power unit is 90 horsepower.
Fuel consumption of Suzuki Ignis varies depending on the selected vehicle equipment. The basic and average front-wheel drive modifications in the urban cycle consume 5.5 liters per 100 kilometers, 4.1 liters on the highway, and 4.6 liters in the combined cycle. All engines comply with Euro 6 standards: CO 2 emissions with these parameters are 104 g / km. Suzuki Ignis in the basic and medium configuration has a top speed of 170 km / h.
The fuel consumption of the all-wheel drive top-end modification Ignis with a mechanical transmission in the city cycle is 5.9 liters per 100 kilometers, down to 4.5 liters along the highway, and up to 5 liters in the combined cycle. Due to all-wheel drive, the maximum developed speed is somewhat lower and amounts to 165 km / h, while the CO 2 emission is 114 g / km.
The hybrid version of the hatchback in terms of fuel consumption is almost identical to the basic configuration: 4.9 liters in urban mode, 4.3 liters in mixed mode and 4 liters on the highway. The maximum speed is 170 km / h.
