The politics and economics of modern Spain are shaped by several factors. Firstly, of course, the country's membership in the EU and other international organizations has a significant impact on it. Secondly, Spain is one of the most developed countries in Europe due to domestic politics. The workforce here is quite cheap, and the staff is qualified. Who now holds the presidency in Spain?
Rakhoy's biography
The current president of Spain was born in 1955 in the Spanish city of Santiago de Compostela in the family of a judge. In addition to him, the family had four more brothers and a sister. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Santiago de Compostela. Oddly enough, former fellow students claim that Rahoy was a rather awkward young man in college, with little or no interest in politics. After graduation, Rahoy began working in real estate. However, from about 22 years old, the future president of Spain still began to gradually join in political affairs.
Political career
1983 was a significant year for Mariano Rajoy - he was elected as a member of the legislative council of the Spanish town of Pontevedra. And in 1986, he begins to occupy a position in the lower house of the Spanish Parliament . However, shortly after this, Rahoy assumed the post of chairman of the government of his native district - Galicia. For several years he leads a stubborn political struggle and is engaged in the affairs of the government of his district.
Since 1999, Rahoy has been Minister of Culture and Education. In the period from 2001 to 2002, he heads the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country. Rahoy was a candidate for the post of President of Spain in 2004 and in 2008. However, his party won only in 2011, and Rahoy managed to achieve his goal.
Rahoy - President
After the election, Rahoy had to face the serious problems that prevailed in the country at that time. This is a financial crisis, and long-standing difficulties with migration policy, and the corruption of power. Elections in 2015 were actually a failure. Spain is in a deep government crisis. Even those parties that were able to get the highest number of votes, in the end, could not agree on which persons would occupy leadership positions.
The question of what is the name of the President of Spain, many are interested in not in vain. Rahoy made many mistakes during his presidential career. Many also accused him of corruption. And in the city of Pontevedra, he renewed the license for a plant that pollutes the environment. The President of Spain is married and has two children.
