St. Lawrence of Chernigov rested on January 19, 1950. In Kiev, at the 1020th anniversary of the celebration of the Baptism of Holy Russia by Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir, the future Patriarch of All Russia Kirill quoted the words of the holy elder, which became a byword: “How can you not separate the Holy Trinity, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit - it is One God, just the same it’s impossible to divide Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, since all together is Holy Russia. ”
Rev. Lavrenty of Chernigov
Schiarchimandrite Lavrenty was a prophet of the Soviet era. In the world, his name was Proskura Luka Evseevich, who was born in the village of Karilskoye near the city of Korop, Chernihiv province (Ukraine). He grew up in a peasant pious and believing family and was the sixth child. Once he played with the guys and was seriously hurt, this was the reason for his limp. But the Lord, as if in rendering physical harm, rewarded Luke with many talents. He had a great ear for music and loved to sing.
Once, his fate brought him together with the regent of the imperial choir, who was originally from these places. He immediately discerned a talent for music in the boy and began to teach him regency. He taught Luke to play the violin, and already at the age of 14, a young man, he became regent of the church choir. And after 6 years he became a novice of the Rykhlovsky Nikolsky Monastery. The monastery choir led by Luke was distinguished by clear sound, special prayer singing and strict observance of the charter of worship.
Having learned about such a gifted regent, Bishop Anthony (Sokolov) of Chernigov transferred him to the Trinity-Ilyinsky Monastery in Chernigov in 1905. When he was 45 years old, in 1912, Luke was tonsured a monk and received the name Lawrence. Two years later, he became a hierodeacon and in 1916 was ordained a hieromonk.
In Kiev in 1923, Father Lavrenty, shemegumen of the Pechersk Lavra, Gabriel tonsured the schema, and in 1928 he was awarded the rank of archimandrite.
Split
During the split, Lavrenty of Chernigov immediately sided with Patriarch Tikhon and condemned the godless Soviet power. He also did not recognize the Orthodox Church abroad, as he believed that the real Church is now being cleansed in Russia in the crucible of repression and persecution.
From 1917 to 1925, Archimandrite Lavrenty of Chernigov dug up a cave in Chernigov on Boldin Hill near the Trinity Monastery and, like the reverend elders of the Caves, accepted the feat of cave living.
In 1930, the Trinity Monastery was closed. Only at night did Father Lavrentiy receive spiritual children in a small wretched hut, sometimes he performed divine services in the Ilyinsky Chapel.
War
During the Great Patriotic War, Chernigov was besieged by the Nazis. The old man was then 73 years old, and at that time he was able to organize two monastic communities: the male consisted of 35 monks and the female consisted of 70 nuns. On Easter 1942, Lavrentiy resumed his service in the cathedral church.
After the monastery was closed, he lived in the house of the nun Eulampia. An amazing incident was recorded from her words, and there were witnesses to this, that in 1939 the priest talked all night with the saints - the Prophet Elijah and the righteous Enoch, with whom they talked about the fate of the world and about Russia. The Holy Fathers warned him that he would soon be talking with the Apostle John the Theologian. And this happened, only after 10 years in 1949.
Demise time
The Monk Lavrenty of Chernigov during his whole life three times visited the holy lands of Athos and Palestine.
In the period from 1942 to 1950, he lived in the Trinity Monastery in the city of Chernigov. He went to the Lord at Baptism on January 19, 1950. On March 5, 1950, the body of Elder Lawrence was placed in a tomb.
During the time of Khrushchev in 1962, the church was closed, and access to the relics was prohibited until 1988. On August 22, 1993, the Monk Lawrence of Chernigov was canonized. When his tomb was opened, the whole tomb was saturated with paradise fragrance of oil. Today, the holy relics rest in the Trinity Cathedral of the city of Chernigov.
Lavrenty of Chernigov: prophecies
Today, the prophecies of the holy elder Lawrence about what awaits our holy land are passed from mouth to mouth. Previously, these prophecies were not very clear, but today, in connection with the tragic events in Ukraine, a lot of things are being revealed right before our eyes.
Here is what Lavrentiy Chernigovsky says about Ukraine: the time will come when the inactive and destroyed churches will be rebuilt and restored outside, inside, the domes of temples and bell towers will be gilded. And when the work is finished, the time of the Antichrist will come, and you will not be able to go to these magnificent temples. This will happen because they will not have a holy spirit, since the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will split.
Antichrist
Elder Lavrenty of Chernigov retold that the Antichrist will give birth to the prodigal virgin Jewess from the twelfth tribe of "fornication." He will be a smart and capable boy. But at the age of 12, walking in the garden with his mother, Satan instills in him. In this youth the Antichrist will mature in a human form. And I will crown him in the temple of Jerusalem. Everyone will be allowed to enter this city, but you should refrain from this trip so as not to be seduced.
At the initiation of the Antichrist the prayer “Creed” will be read, but when the words about Jesus are heard, he will only acknowledge himself. The patriarch recognizes the Antichrist in him, but then he dies. The Antichrist will be wearing gloves, and when he takes them off, claws will show up on his hands, and this will be a sign. The prophets Elijah and Enoch will immediately descend from heaven, whom he will kill, and they will immediately rise and return to heaven.
False signs
Antichrist will be cunning and flattering, will send people false signs. Not in the church, but in every house there will be seductive devices (in our time, apparently, televisions) that will engage in seducing people. Many will want to find out the news from there, and the Antichrist will appear in them, who will begin to “stamp” their people with seals. Christians will be hated because they will refuse the seal of Satan and begin to be persecuted. These seals will be such that a person will immediately be seen whether he accepted it or not. But do not lose heart, the Lord will not abandon his children.
Atheists
Returning to his prophecies, it is worth noting that Lavrenty of Chernigov predicted a church schism in Ukraine. He said that all false teachings would come out together with demons and secret atheists (Catholics, Ukrainian saints, Uniates, etc.). Together, they gang up on the canonical Orthodox Church. Godless government will support these heretics, as well as help to take away from Orthodox churches and beat the faithful. The Kiev metropolitan-schismatic who is not worthy of this title, together with his bishops and priests at that time, will greatly shake the Russian Orthodox Church. But then eternal destruction will await him, as in Judas, and he will drag his followers along with him.
But all the slander and false teachings in Russia will disappear. The Russian Church will remain united and unshakable. In Kiev, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will never have a Patriarch, since Moscow will always be and will be his place.
Once, the elder Lavrentiy also warned the priesthood, among which was the governor of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra, father Kronid, that the unions and the saints should be protected, to which the priest objected that they supposedly disappeared after 1946. But Lavrentiy continued that the demon would enter them, and they would mount a wild fury against the Orthodox, but shameful doom awaited them, and their followers would be punished by the Lord.
Holy Russia
Saint Lavrenty strictly and persistently said that Russia and Russian are our native words. Kiev is the mother of Russian cities and the second Jerusalem.
He always made me remember that it was the Baptism of Russia, and not of Ukraine. He also said that in Poland there was a secret Jewish capital, and therefore the Jews constantly forced the Poles to go to war in Russia. The conquered lands were given by the Poles along with the monasteries and churches to the Jews, who were often forbidden to perform trebs.
The Jews did not like to pronounce the words "Rus" and "Russian." Therefore, they called the Russian lands the "outskirts". A little later, this imaginary Judeo-Polish outskirts received the legalized name "Ukraine", and the people began to be called "Ukrainians", so that the "Russians" were torn off forever from Holy Orthodox Russia.
The saint's prophecies come true, and not in hindsight, but in time and now. The time has come for analysis, we must be wise and judicious, and it is better not to listen to the beautiful words of those who profess a careless spiritual life and serve their mammon.
