Those people who have had at least 15 years of work experience at a computer have a slightly different perception of many new developments in the field of computer technology than novice users. However, this is quite natural: what used to seem unattainable has now become publicly available.
One of these “miracles” is a webcam. Being connected to a computer and the global Internet, it makes it possible not only to talk with a distant interlocutor, but also to see him in real time (of course, provided he has the same device).
Currently, there are no difficulties with its acquisition: you can choose the desired model of a certain price category in almost any store that sells electrical goods. The only thing worth noting is that many users have a question about how to install the webcam. This is what this article will be about today. It is possible that after reading it, installing a webcam will not cause difficulties even for a beginner.
The market offers a wide selection of such devices. The differences are not limited only to the manufacturer, among which A4Tech, Logitech, Creative, etc. are respected.
For example, installing a Genius webcam allows you to "assemble" an optimal video system in terms of cost / capabilities. A complete list of features includes the presence (or absence) of autofocus; own illumination for work in the dark or counter-light; connection interface; matrix resolution; the ability to work in digital camera mode; constructive solution, etc. Despite this, the general rules according to which the installation of the webcam is universal. In this case, such standardization is appropriate. In other words, for example, installing a Logitech webcam differs very little from working with devices from other manufacturers. So what is required for this?
Installing a webcam implies the need to solve two issues: how to physically connect the device to a computer and which programs should be installed. First of all, you need to carefully read the specifications indicated on the packaging of the web device and find the type of interface. In most cases, this is USB, although Ethernet can sometimes be found. You can do otherwise and just look at the plug of the cord of the webcam - perhaps everyone can recognize USB.
After that, connect the device to the computer. To do this, insert the plug into the corresponding free connector on the back of the system unit. Connecting to the front-panel connector in some cases can cause malfunctions due to a lack of supply voltage. It is recommended to connect when the operating system is loaded - this will simplify the operation of Plug & Play technology.
If the camera is from the latest models, then, as a rule, it belongs to the “Driver Free” type, that is, it works without additional drivers. In this case, it remains only to run the desired program for web conferencing.
Otherwise, you should use the installation program located on the disk that comes with the camera. Universal option: go to the developer's site, find the right model there, download the driver and install it.
After that, you can start the program - Skype, Mail_Agent and others that support the camera. Having received the image, it is necessary to properly fix (install) the device. So simple.
