The fashionable genre in art: metaphysical painting, poetry and photography

The word "metaphysics" must have been heard by many. It is believed that metaphysics is the most genuine philosophy, that is, the science of the principles of being and supersensible principles. In other words, it means everything that cannot be explained using the laws of physics.

metaphysical painting
So, for example, in the visual arts there is such a thing as metaphysical painting. Its founder was the Italian artist Giorgio de Chirico. Staying in the years 1913-1914. in Paris, he painted urban desert landscapes. However, these were not standard academic landscapes. Something futuristic, conditional, distorted slipped in these paintings. The further, the more his works became surreal and strange, devoid of any logic, despite the fact that the objects themselves were portrayed quite realistically. So, by 1922, a whole movement appeared, in which artists, writers and poets participated, distinguished by the originality and originality of their creations.

Metaphysical painting is a distorted perspective, unnatural lighting, strange images, statues and mannequins instead of people ... The combination of all this with the photographic accuracy of the objects depicted often leads to thoughts about the "normality" of the authors of such paintings. This genre has something in common with surrealism. The only difference is that, unlike surrealism, metaphysical painting does not call for anyone to understand what exactly is depicted in the picture. It can be said that this is a meaningless and incoherent set of obscure symbols and objects. In surrealism, every corner of the canvas literally shouts: โ€œDecipher me!โ€ Both of these genres are similar in their magical atmosphere. Looking at such pictures, it seems as if you have fallen into some strange dream or see hallucinations.

metaphysical photography

Metaphysical photography can cause about the same sensations. The most authoritative metaphysician photographer is Alexander Slyusarev. They imitate him, study at his work, admire him. He had his own vision of the world, his own style. But what kind of genre is this? Is it possible to photograph something in such a way that it turns out both abstract, and philosophical, and unusual? In the end, this is not a metaphysical painting with invented images. But practice has shown that you can take a picture. It doesn't matter what you shoot. What matters is how you do it. You can shoot a brick wall so that once you see her photo, you will not forget it anymore. Metaphysical photographers look for the unusual in the ordinary: they pick up unusual angles, lighting, the play of chiaroscuro, unexpected ratios of objects among themselves, etc.

metaphysical poetry
A snapshot can be as simple as possible and, at first glance, even boring. But if there is something invisible in it that literally โ€œcatchesโ€, fascinates, this means that it can claim genius.

But metaphysics is present not only in painting and photography. Her poetry is not without. Poems written in this genre are literally โ€œcrammedโ€ with a multitude of all kinds of metaphors and philosophical considerations. Often metaphysical poetry is permeated with God-seeking, religious sentiments. In such verses, nature is replaced by the temple, and earthly passions are opposed to intense contemplation. Any life phenomenon for a metaphysical poet has a mystical, hidden, secret meaning, to reveal which is his main task. However, there are also amateurs to write quite funny, intricate and even paradoxical poems that more closely resemble detailed aphorisms.
