That is why the prime ministers in the lists are tangibly divided into two periods - Yeltsin and Putin.
The “perestroika” time of the first president of Russia Boris Yeltsin went down in history not only as a time of freedom, but also as a period of “shock therapy”, various conflicts and stressful situations. In general, the time of destruction. That's why we call it "dark." Most Yeltsin list names, alas, are associated with a variety of setbacks, mistakes, and upheavals.

The name Sergei Kiriyenko is a synonym for 1998 default. Although this "merit" is not his, but the previously ill-conceived financial policy of the government, including Chernomyrdin.

Creation, stabilization, revival - to a large extent, this was facilitated by the external economic situation associated with rising energy prices. Even under the leadership of Mikhail Kasyanov, who looked like a "legacy" of the Yeltsin period, he managed to stabilize the financial situation, stop the collapse of industry and the crisis of Russian national identity. Viktor Khristenko, who flickered briefly, did not leave a special trace, but Mikhail Fradkin gave rise to national projects as a phenomenon (although they were not actually implemented), plans for active implementation were made. Viktor Zubkov, who twice took office on an emergency basis, was similar to his namesake Khristenko.
Then came the second “coming” of Putin. Vladimir Vladimirovich did not have the right to occupy the post of president for three consecutive terms, and his talents were used in the role of Prime Minister. The time of his work is recent, therefore any of us can give her an assessment. But it is unlikely to be in dark colors.
Record holder Medvedev
But it’s too early to make a “sentence” to Dmitry Medvedev. Dmitry Anatolyevich, who recently survived another reappointment, this year broke Chernomyrdin's record for continuous stay in the prime minister's chair. Not to count for the break one (May 7) day when Medvedev legally resigned before the re-elected President Putin. Already on May 8, Medvedev returned to his duties, which he now performs.
