How it all began
Yakut medical college is a collegiate institution with a rich past. In September 2016, he celebrated his 110th birthday. This means that the history of the college began in 1906. At first, the educational institution in Yakutsk was a small male paramedic school. However, in a fairly short period of time, it has developed and gained fame far beyond the city limits.
The feldsher school existed until 1915. In the future, the educational institution changed its name several times:
- in 1915 it became a feldsher-midwife school;
- in 1922 - by a medical college;
- in 1935, the institution was returned to the status of feldsher-obstetric school and given the name of G. K. Ordzhonikidze;
- in 1954, the school was transformed into a medical school;
- in 1993, the institution was renamed the basic medical college;
- in 2011, colleges were already called the Yakutsk College of Medicine, i.e. it was given the modern name.

People who study today at the Yakutsk Medical College can be proud of him. This colony is the oldest and most respected in the republic. Over the years, he trained a huge number of qualified specialists. Among the graduates there are scientists, people who received the honorary title of “Honored Doctor”.
Periodically, colleges are included in the top 100 educational institutions of secondary vocational education in our country. For example, in 2018, the college was awarded such an honor. In August 2017, the college enrolled only 12 people in the specialty “Applied Aesthetics”. In colleges, they approached the new school year and study in a completely new specialty with all seriousness. A special laboratory for applied aesthetics was organized. It installed modern equipment. Education in a new specialty is designed for 3 years.
The work of the selection committee
Every year, with the beginning of the introductory campaign, the admission committee of the educational institution opens its doors to applicants. Some serious entrance tests in college are not carried out. Applicants are not required to take exams in general subjects. There are only two tests that everyone needs to pass. About 10 days before the start of the school year, orders for admission to the Yakut Medical College are published - lists of applicants who have become students.
