In the life of every modern person, the time comes when he goes to work. Every individual can choose the profile of his work, based on
personal preferences, characteristics of qualifications and the amount of payment received for the actions taken. Along with everything else, the duration of working hours should also be taken into account.
What it is?
This term characterizes the length of time during which the employee is at the workplace in accordance with the employment contract concluded between him and the employer. In this case, the law stipulates both the duties of the employee and his right to stay at the place of production. In turn, the employer must appropriately keep records of the above intervals through time sheets, which indicate the length of working time for a month and beyond. It should be remembered that each individual tenant has the right to independently establish the framework for the beginning and end of the working day, the boundaries of the lunch break, as well as the general mode of working time.
What is included here?
In addition to all of the above, it is important to remember that the definition of “working hours” does not include the intervals necessary for an employee to get to the place of duty, as well as the periods used to prepare him directly for work - for example, for dressing up as a worker clothing or bringing to the appropriate type of workplace (in the case, unless otherwise specified by the employment contract).
If the above actions are part of the daily duties of the employee, then these activities, as well as all the procedures and processes described below, are included in the definition of the term “working hours”. We list all the actions that an employee performs while in the workplace:
1. Actual work in accordance with their duties.
2. The performance of military duties.
3. Fulfillment of public or state duties.
4. Issuance and receipt of tasks.
5. The study of technical documentation and much more.
Classification
The modern labor code distinguishes three types of production periods: normal working hours, shortened and incomplete. Let's consider each of these categories in more detail. A distinctive feature of the latter is that it is established by reaching an agreement between the employer and the employee. The first type is most stable. For single-shift enterprises, this is usually a standard eight-hour working day with a lunch break and breaks for the employee to rest, if necessary. Shortened working hours are often found in the form of a reduction in the period of work on holidays (at the discretion of the administration).
