Today we will discuss how to draw a Star Butterfly in stages with a pencil.
The basis
We draw the basis of the contour of the future princess: a circle and a slightly inclined hexagon. We draw a circle at the place of the future waist, partially inscribing it in the two lower corners of the hexagon. Now you can draw a "skirt" starting with the upper half of the circle.
We divide the large circle into four parts, designate the axes around which we will draw the facial features of Star Butterfly. We outline the places where the nose and mouth will be located.
Axes
Many have problems with drawing the hands and feet of characters. Again we outline the axis. Star Butterfly holds hands on both sides of the body, and socks apart. We draw small elongated hexagons at the ends of the axes for the hands, and at the ends of the axes for the legs we make a sketch of the basis for future boots.
Face
We draw the face of the princess. Slightly adjust the shape to indicate the chin. We outline the ears, aligning them along the horizontal axis on the face. Draw a smiling mouth and nose with a “button”.
Star has beautiful blue eyes, so do not be afraid to make two large vertical ovals closer to the edges of the head around the horizontal axis. In each oval, we add two smaller ovals, so that we get a pupil and an iris.
Hair
We draw a bang and a rim. The bangs close the princess’s eye by about one third. We are not afraid to draw a bold line. It only touches the other eye - we focus on the upper part of the largest oval.
Now we outline the rim and lock of hair above Star’s ear. In the middle of the rim above the eyes we outline funny horns.
Upper torso
We draw the hands and top of the princess dress. The boundaries of the face and axis for the hands will tell us how to draw. Star Butterfly wears a dress with short sleeves covering about a quarter of her arms. They end where the head is. In fact, from the upper corner of both sleeves you can draw along a vertical line to the edge of the princess's face.
Carefully draw the hands, writing brushes in hexagons. Star has four fingers, two middle fingers are shifted together, approximately equal in width to a large one.
Lower torso
We draw the bottom of the dress and a handbag in the form of a star. Do not forget the frills. We draw a strap over the princess’s shoulder. On the outside of the star we draw two eyes looking to the side, and a smiling mouth.
Legs
We draw legs and boots. Again, the axes will tell us how to draw. Star Butterfly wears boots in the form of dragons. Their eye-buttons are located on the vertical axes just below the lines of their intersection with the top of the soft hexagons. We draw sharp lines teeth on the soles and horns on the nose.
The boots end just in the middle between the skirt and the eyes of the dragons. We outline the legs above.
Details
It's time to pay attention to small details. We draw the contour of the princess’s luxurious hair, frills on the sleeves, a pattern on the dress, a collar and stripes on tights.
Do not be afraid to do the finishing touches on your face. Outlines of the main features will tell us how to draw. Star Butterfly is distinguished by a blush in the form of hearts on the cheeks, thin eyebrows and eyelashes. We also finish the auricles.
Drawing
We erase the sketches and axes, shade the blush and the iris. We color the princess at will.
