Most people love cats. Of course, many animals are outwardly beautiful, but of which the most cute are cats. Love for our smaller brothers did not pass by creative people either. Many of them have tailed pets living at home, and almost every person who is fond of drawing, looking at his pet, tried to gradually draw a kitty. How to do this, we will now see, and also try to portray a cat in anime style.
First step. Sketch
First choose which one you want to draw the kitty. As a rule, drawing from nature is much more convenient than from memory, because you can always compare your work and the actual object in front of you. The basis of any work is a sketch. Sketches are usually carried out with solid (H or F) pencils, so that later it is more convenient to erase excess lines. Carefully examine the animal in front of you, remember its distinctive details, calculate the proportions of the length of the parts of the body and body, think in which pose you want to draw it. Kisu, like any animal and even a human being, can be depicted in the form of geometric shapes in a sketch. For example, start sketching with two small circles - the head and face on it and a large oval (animal body). Paws can be drawn in the form of narrow elongated figures, and the tail - in a line. A sketch is only an example display showing where the elements of the picture are located, and overeating only their shape and dimensions.
Second step. Give shape
First, we check whether we have correctly positioned the head, body, legs and tail, and also compare the ratio of the sizes of the body parts of the real animal and your image. Before you draw the kitty in full, once again check whether the cat is proportional in your drawing. If the sketch is done correctly: the head was not too large, and the number of paws of a cat coincides with reality, then now we proceed to draw the missing details and draw the outline of the sketch. But do not elaborate on the head in detail, just outline the approximate location of the eyes, ears and muzzle: you can do the exact drawing of the rest a bit later. This work can be done with a softer pencil, for example, hard soft (HB).
Third step. Head
First, give the circle or oval on your sketch the shape of a cat's head. In the place where the cat’s cheeks pass into the muzzle, narrow the main circle (the head should look like a pear in shape). Now divide it with a vertical line exactly in the center (the axis of symmetry of the face). With respect to approximately ½, counting from above, draw a horizontal line - the eyes will be located here. Draw the eyes, nose and ears of the cat. The eyes are small ovals elongated horizontally, and the distance between them is equal to the length of one eye, the pupils, unlike human ones, are vertical. Ears look like triangles rounded at the top, and the nose looks like an inverted triangle, closer to the base of which circles were cut on the sides. And do not forget to add all the necessary details, such as a mustache and eyebrows.
Fourth step. Colors
A distinctive feature of each animal is its color. Look at your cat, what is it? Striped, speckled or its color without a pattern? Try to convey the real color of the animal, because it is she who will give your work the greatest resemblance to a pet. To depict wool, draw with short strokes, laying them on top of each other. Also designate light and shadow: where a shadow falls on your “model”, make the color darker, the darkest part will be under that part of the body on which your kitty is leaning. How to draw a shadow falling from an animal into the surrounding space, its shape will tell you: the shaded areas repeat the shape of the object. In these places for work you can use softer pencils, but hatching is most often done with B or HB stylus.
Anime cat
Of course, cats themselves are very beautiful animals, but their image in anime is especially interesting: because of the big eyes, the cutest cats are obtained in Japanese cartoons. The genre has a rather large audience, and many people like this style of drawing. So let's also figure out how to draw an anime kitty.
The work of anime-drawing is more complicated: styling drawings is more difficult than portraying a real-life object. But you need to start everywhere the same way - with a sketch that is performed in the same way as a sketch of any cat.
