Adherents of the Pentecostal community TSEHDA is more than 10 thousand people. One of the founders was V. A. Sukhorukov, great-grandfather of Olga Golikova, pastor of the Church of the Light of Christ, originating in the 20th century.
First Pentecostal Church
The gospel movement has gained strength around the world. Russia was no exception. In 1905, I. Prokhanov, vice president of the World Baptist Alliance, sent a preacher A. I. Ivanov to the St. Petersburg community. His assistants were V. A. Sukhorukov and N. P. Smorodin, great-grandfather of Sergei Alexandrovich Golikov, husband of Olga Dmitrievna.
In 1913, members of the community were baptized with the Holy Spirit. As a result of this, a split occurred in the church: the paths of Ivanov and Prokhanov diverged.
A. I. Ivanov and his associates, including V. A. Sukhorukov, Olga Dmitrievna’s great-grandfather, moved to Vyborg, where they preached the Gospel. Soon, the first Pentecostal church was created here.
Persecution of Believers
In 1915, meetings were banned, and the founders were exiled to Siberia. Community members gathered secretly. After the revolution, when Finland gained independence, and in Russia it was possible to openly register a church, V. A. Sukhorukov and his family moved to the Tver province, where he founded the largest community in the spirit of the apostles.
In the 1930s, meetings were also held illegally. In 1938, authorities proposed to formally register the community in Vyborg and submit lists of its members. According to them, all the believers were arrested. By the 50s, a handful of people remained here.
Community in Pargolovo
In 1953, Shatrov D.L., father of Olga Dmitrievna Golikova, came to Leningrad, he began work on the restoration of the church. In May 1972 he was ordained to the ministry. In 1978, the church in the spirit of the apostles separated from the Baptists and independently registered. In 1979, the Prayer House was opened in Pargolovo. In 1981, it was consecrated. People showed interest in the Bible; several times a year, 50-60 people were baptized. A Sunday school, a theological seminary was opened, and a string orchestra was created.
In 1991, a building was acquired on Pionerskaya Street, where a free dining room worked. The meeting room did not accommodate everyone. And in 1999, D. L. Shatrov returned with some of the people to Pargolovo, registering the “Forerunner” community, where she began the ministry of O. D. Golikov.
Good News
Olga Dmitrievna continued Golikova’s ministry in the “Good News” mission, which was organized in 1990 to carry out educational work. In 1991, the administration of St. Petersburg handed over to the church the cinema building “Rus”. At the same time, they created the OTV channel, began broadcasting Christian programs, and launched the “Line of Trust”.
In 2011, the venue for the church was the Colosseum Concert Hall. Currently, more than 130 ministries have been created. In 2015, another mission was opened - “The Light of Christ”. Meetings are held at the cinema of the Moscow Hotel (St. Petersburg). Senior pastor Golikova O. D. is often asked how she became a preacher. After all, a woman cannot stand behind the pulpit: “let his wife study in silence,” and the very expression “Pastor Olya” sounds ridiculous.
Olga Dmitrievna says that she grew up in a traditional church, where everyone thought the same way. But such categoricalness has gone over time. For example, in World War II, when men went to the front, women did a lot, including being evangelists and preachers.
Service “YEAR”

Golikova's books
“Russia for Christ” was published in 2015. Here the author, using the example of the Bible, explains why it is important to pray for the country, cities and streets. The Gospel tells of two cases when Jesus cried: one - about Lazarus, the second - about the city of Jerusalem. Christ takes care of the place where man lives. And in order to change the atmosphere, transform society, you need to know the principles. The laws of the physical world also work spiritually. For example, the law of attraction, the law of sowing. In order to master the city in the physical world, you need a strategy and tactics. Certain principles are applied in order to take possession of the territory for Christ.
“Stairway to Heaven” was released in 2011. Golikova Olga Dmitrievna tells that each person has a desire for higher, and explains with examples from the Bible. It is possible to react differently to this craving high, but God's nature is inherent in every person. Like reaches for like. And only one staircase leads to Heaven - this is the study of the message of God, immersion in His Word. The higher a person wants to rise, the deeper the immersion is needed. This short book not only talks about several ways to systematically study the Bible, but helps to understand the nature of God, to gain an understanding of oneself and one's destiny.
