Preparing for pregnancy

In recent years, more and more couples who decide to start a family and have a baby begin to realize the necessity of such an important stage in their life together as preparation for pregnancy. It is undesirable enough for a woman to become pregnant at a time when she is not ready for this state at all, either physically or emotionally.

Preparing for pregnancy is, perhaps, one of the most important fundamental factors for creating the most optimal conditions, both for conception and for a further nine-month gestation of the unborn child. This process, which means a conscious planned conception, will enable the future baby to be born strong and healthy, without any defects, and most importantly - it will be a welcome and beloved child.

It will be ideal if preparation for pregnancy begins two or three months before the planned conception. Both future parents must be involved in this process. This time is quite enough, both for visiting doctors of various profiles to completely eliminate any risks, and for adapting your lifestyle for the normal course of pregnancy.

The first visit should be to a physician, who, after appropriate examination and pressure measurement, will send parents to the laboratory for blood and urine tests to determine the blood type, as well as the Rh factor. All this will avoid possible difficulties during pregnancy. The next examination should take place at the gynecologist, who examines the woman for the presence of bacteria and infection in her genitals. It is necessary to completely eliminate the danger to the life of the future fetus, such infectious diseases as hepatitis, syphilis, chlamydia, etc. A visit to the dentist to bring the oral cavity and teeth in full order is not superfluous: this is another factor in protecting the unborn child from infections.

If a young couple has begun such a crucial stage as preparation for pregnancy, tests to detect maternal diseases such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, cardiovascular pathologies, expansion of the blood arteries, etc. required. And only after the complete denial of all these ailments can one think about conception.

It is unnecessary to mention such bad habits as cigarettes and alcohol, not to mention the drugs that should be in the distant past. It will also be nice to reduce the amount of coffee and tea taken, the optimal amount of which should be 2 cups per day.

Preparing the body for pregnancy involves maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle. This applies mainly to proper nutrition, the composition of which should be balanced and containing a sufficient amount of trace elements and vitamins. An additional intake of folic acid, which is especially necessary for the fetus in the very early stages of its development, does not badly affect the body of the expectant mother. This acid is found in foods such as nuts, legumes, fresh herbs, carrots, potatoes and cabbage.

Relatively mild pregnancy provides an active lifestyle, long walks in the fresh air, exercise, regulated physical activity. All this will prepare the female body for the reception of a "new life."

Preparing for pregnancy is a very important preparatory stage before the great event, for which future parents should be mentally prepared. And this state of mind is no less important than caring for health.

You need to spend more time together, buy special literature and read together. You can make a list of names and start choosing them for both the boy and the girl. In a word, future parents should direct all their thoughts and actions to that wonderful creature that will soon appear in them.
