But the question of how to seal the camera is not the only one that the workshop workers decide. They also have to deal with wheel imbalances associated with changes in rim geometry.
Kinds
Car wheels, no matter how trite it may sound, conditionally consist of two parts - a metal rim and a rubber chamber. In this regard, all consumables are classified into two groups:
- vulcanization materials - are used to eliminate punctures, tears and other damage to tires (rubber elements of the wheel);
- balancing weights - are used to compensate for deformation of the rim.
The most widespread on the market were blanks for vulcanization. Installation of awnings takes place on a special stand, which an ordinary driver cannot afford. Therefore, such a consumable for tire fitting is more in demand in professional repair centers.
Components
Elimination of damage associated with the violation of the integrity of the camera and loss of tightness is carried out using a certain consumable for tire fitting. In accordance with this, they can be divided into three groups:
- Crude rubber - used to eliminate small punctures.
- Patches - used to "treat" breakdowns, cuts in places where the cord was broken.
- Express materials are components for urgent restoration of wheel integrity.
Crude rubber is necessary during vulcanization - hot puncture removal. It is a plastic mass of black color, which when heated to a temperature of 140-150 degrees melts and adheres to the camera.
Puncture blanks
The elimination of breakdowns consists in restoring the tightness of the chamber and cord threads. For this purpose, a patch is used - a consumable for tire fitting, which is a reinforced piece of rubber. It is installed on the inside of the tire. One of the sides of such a βpatchβ is lubricated with glue, with which cold vulcanization becomes possible.

Express repair
Preparations for quick repairs are only a temporary measure, for example, when you are on the road or cannot go to a car repair shop. The main component of an emergency repair is the "foot".
It is a small rubber cylinder with a pointed edge or metal tip. It is used to restore the treadmill, as in the remaining parts the tire is much thicker, and it is impossible to securely fix it. A variety of legs is a fungus. It is a combination of a rubber cylinder and a patch. All of the consumables for tire fitting presented are required to repair damage up to 13 mm in diameter.
Balancing weights
Use special awnings to evenly distribute the mass of the wheel, which reduces its fluctuations in the vertical plane during rotation.
There are two main types of balancing weights:
- Self-adhesive - adhere to the rim using double-sided tape or glue.
- Stuffed - have a special bracket, with the help of which they are fixed on the disk.
