For a long time, cars of the usual model range were assembled at AvtoVAZ, the conveyor has already been wiped from the Zhiguli and Samara. It was not stagnation yet, but the routine in production was definitely outlined. And suddenly a breakthrough, a new big project. The multi-thousandth team of the auto giant perked up, the engineers uncovered the pockets, and the financiers prepared for large cash inflows. And indeed, the process has begun. A concept car of a fundamentally new design was created, not even a modification of previous models, but a new word in automobile production.
For the 2004 summer auto show, only a concept layout was ready, it was called Lada Silhouette. And the first machine of the project was assembled a year later, the copy was exhibition and did not even roll on the factory track. Experimental samples left the assembly line only in 2006, but even then a variety of bodies and prototypes of the new machine were outlined.
The first Lada Silhouette series consisted of 23 body styles and 18 prototypes. The study of the exterior and interior has not yet been. Nevertheless, at the 2006 Moscow Motor Show, the concept was presented for the sake of showing the platform, the development of the chassis and a completely new front suspension.
However, already in the next, 2007 Lada Silhouette had a completely finished exterior and its own interior, which was quite interesting in terms of design decisions. The aerodynamics of the car were completed, the results were encouraging. The silhouette was the first VAZ design in which a double-threaded silencer was used. At the same time, a new type of radiator with upcoming cameras was created, which has never been on a single VAZ car. It was immediately decided to develop a sedan, station wagon and hatchback. Moreover, the hatchback quickly stepped forward and its presentation soon passed. Sedan and wagon lagged a bit, but also developed without delay.
The power plant for all cars Silhouette
Lada 2116 is a promising P4 engine with a rotation of 6000 rpm, a capacity of 112 l / s. The speed on the highway is about two hundred km / h. Over time, the machine will definitely receive a diesel engine, since the operation of the Silhouette is expected in various regions of Russia. Therefore, the attention of designers does not bypass the operational character of the new car. Replacing brake pads is associated with the use of a special tool, it can only be done in a technical center.
The recommended tires for use are 195 / 65R15 and 205 / 55R16, normal pressure, 1.7 - 1.8 atmospheres. The useful load of the Lada Silhouette car (photo of the trunk is presented on the page) is 500 kg, although more can be loaded. The gearbox is still mechanical, at 5 speeds, but in the future there will be an automatic transmission.
The car, although five-seater, but the interior is very spacious, the seats are ergonomic and rational constructively, fold out and assemble in a second. Production of the machine in large batches will begin in the next couple of years. And Lada Silhouette, the price of which promises to be quite affordable, will stand on a par with the best cars of our time.
