VAZ 2114 is one of the first domestic cars to use an electronic combination of the instrument panel. The pioneer in this area was, of course, the top ten, after which electronics began to be used on all subsequent VAZ models. And we will devote today's article to the device of the dashboard of the 2114th Lada.
Device and characteristic
The dashboard of the VAZ 2114, in addition to the electronic combination, is also special with its backlight location. And if on the first generation of “Samara” it was organized outside, which complicated access to the dashboard during dismantling, then the indications on the 14th “Lada” were lit by lamps from the inside. But this is not all the features of this part.
On VAZ 2114 vehicles, the dashboard includes up to 19 designations, the main of which, of course, is a tachometer, speedometer, coolant and fuel level sensors.
Coolant temperature sensor
And we will begin a review of the notation on the left side. Here, the dashboard on the VAZ 2114 has a pointer coolant temperature sensor. The red scale starts at 105 degrees Celsius and ends at 130. For the note, we note that if the arrow of this sensor is in this range, you should immediately stop the engine and wait until it cools down. Otherwise, boiling of the motor is inevitable.
Tachometer
Next we have a tachometer. This is the largest dial gauge on the dashboard after the speedometer. On its designations we see that the normal engine speed should be in the region from 2 to 5.5 thousand rpm (idle speed does not count). Next is the red bar. Hitting the arrow in this range is not as dangerous as with the coolant temperature sensor. However, one should not forget that the prohibitively high speed of the crankshaft entails not only increased fuel consumption, but also a significant load on all other engine parts.
Speedometer
The dashboard of the VAZ 2114 is certainly equipped with a speedometer. This is the most important detail in a panel board. It is on her testimony that the driver's control over speed depends, and, accordingly, safety too. Therefore, it should display readings with a maximum accuracy of 0.1 kilometers per hour. The dashboard of the VAZ 2114 has a speedometer scale with a measurement value from 0 to 200 kilometers per hour. Interestingly, almost all domestic cars have speedometers that measure readings over 170 km / h. For example, on GAZelles, the peak speed is in the region of 180-200 kilometers per hour (depending on the year of manufacture). It is strange, of course, that the light van is accelerating to the given values, here at least dial “a hundred” from the mountain ...
Fuel level sensor
The last dial gauge measures the fuel level in the vehicle’s gas tank. It is located according to the standard scheme - on the right side of the dashboard. There are only 3 symbols on the scale: 0, ½, and 1. Of course, it does not measure data with the same accuracy as a speedometer, but it’s quite possible to find out the approximate remaining fuel.
