The Belarusian company Promsvyaz is known for its development of electronic equipment in the field of communications. One of the most interesting devices of this company is the Promsvyaz M-200 A modem. Setting it up is quite simple and does not imply any special knowledge for the user. Any person can set the necessary parameters and options, and within 5-10 minutes. True, in this case, you will have to pay close attention to some important parameters, as well as follow the schemes that will be given below. Only under this condition it is possible to achieve the correct operation of the device in different modes, as well as in cases of connecting consoles to watch IPTV (this will be discussed separately). In the meantime, in order to get acquainted with the device itself, its main characteristics will be given.
Promsvyaz M-200 A modem: main characteristics
So, for starters, a few words about the main technical parameters of the modem itself. It is believed that it is very similar to equipment from the ZTE brand, if only because the assembly is based on the use of Chinese components. And this model is not much different from its Chinese counterpart. This applies to the main functionality, and all the settings made. The difference is only in the name of the manufacturer, located at the top of the web interface, which, incidentally, is completely English. This circumstance is sometimes legitimately puzzling for some users, because, since the manufacturer is Belarusian, it was possible to install support for the Russian language. However, this is not so important, since further basic settings and parameters will be considered in sufficient detail.

This device is equipped with four inputs for local networks, one for DSL, as well as a standard power connector. The modem has a very modest and compact size and provides for the same distribution on all connected devices. An undoubted advantage can be called a simple manual configuration and relatively low cost.
Setting up the Promsvyaz M-200 A modem (ByFly): basic steps
Speaking about the settings, first of all, it should be noted the main points associated with going through different stages of setting the necessary parameters. As an example, we use the settings for ByFly of the Belarusian operator Beltelecom.
Setting up the Promsvyaz M-200 A modem begins with the user having to enter the device’s web interface. This is done from any Internet browser installed in the system, in which the standard combination 192.168.1.1. Is typed in the address bar, after which the login and password are entered (for both fields - admin).
Next, you need to select the modes in which the necessary options will be set. There may be three:
- Bridge ("bridge");
- Router
- WiFi.
Setting options for Bridge mode
So, we assume that the input to the device interface is complete. Initially, the Promsvyaz M-200 A router modem should be configured in the bridge mode (Internet section and Interface Setup tab).
Here, in the ISP field, the corresponding mode (Bridge) is selected. The main parameters set by default do not need to be changed especially, but you should pay attention to some important nuances:
- connection type is fixed on Bridge Mode;
- in the line NAT - active state (Enabled);
- Valid values of the VCI and VPI fields (for example, for Minsk, 33 is set in the VCI field, in most cases 0 is used for VCI). As a rule, these parameters can be obtained from the provider, and they should be indicated in the contract for the provision of services.
Promsvyaz M-200 A modem: setup in Router mode
The next step will be to set the parameters for the router mode. The configuration of the Promsvyaz M-200 A modem in this case is somewhat different from those options that were previously described. These settings will be used to enable signal distribution.
Here you need to pay attention to the following points:
- in the ISP field, the PPPoA / PPPoE mode is mandatory;
- in the PPPoE / PPPoA section, the username and password are entered, which are specified in the contract, and the username must be XXXXXXXXXXXXX@beltel.by;
- the bridge interface line must be activated (Activated item);
- the line of the IP address for distribution by default (Default Route) is set to Yes;
- for dynamic distribution (Dynamic Route), the RIP2-M mode is selected.
After that, it remains just to save the changes made, and after a few seconds the parameters will be updated, and the configuration of the Promsvyaz M-200 A modem in ADSL mode is considered complete. In this case, a reboot of the system and the device itself is not required.
Wi-Fi options and options
For the Promsvyaz M-200 A modem, WiFi setup is just as simple. It is produced in the same section of Interface Setup, but already on the Wireless tab.
Here the parameters should look like this:
- access point (Access Point) - Activated;
- PreSSID parameter - Activated;
- Broadcast SSID field - Yes;
- SSID - register your own arbitrary network name;
- Pre-shared Key - instead of the standard password, it is advisable to enter another one, invented independently (to ensure security of access to the network).
Further, as in all previous cases, the button for saving the current settings is pressed (Save).
What to do if port forwarding is required ?
The configuration of the Promsvyaz M-200 A modem is completed. Now let's look at the situation when, for some reason, it is necessary to perform the port forwarding procedure.
First, go to the Advanced Setup section and select the NAT options installation item. Here you need to use the Virtual Server section.
In the Application section, enter:
- The name of the software for which you intend to open ports,
- range of port addresses from start to end (Start Port / End Port) ,
- IP of the computer for which access is opened (you can find it directly on the machine where the corresponding software is installed).
In the case when access should be granted to several users of the same terminal, all addresses can be viewed using the ipconfig / all command in the command console (cmd in the Run menu, called by Win + R combination).
IPTV setup issues
Finally, consider setting the correct options for watching IPTV. As an example, we use the Zala service. Setting up the Promsvyaz M-200 A modem for this case in general terms is very similar to setting the options described above, but there are some nuances. The main purpose of setting these parameters is to offload the Wi-Fi network. In turn, you need to remember that the operator allocates IPTV to a separate channel (subnet) with its DHCP server.
The options for any connection option should be as follows:
- physical ports: the active range is only from the first to the third (the Enabled parameter in the Physical Ports line);
- Advanced Setup section - activation of the WLAN Function (Activated) parameter.
For VLAN PVID, the options shown in the image below are set.
VLAN Index 1 - parameters are set, as shown in the following diagram.
Values for VLAN Index 2 are set according to another algorithm.
Further, as in all previous cases, the usual saving of settings, options and established parameters follows.
Reset
Finally, resetting the Promsvyaz M-200 A modem in the simplest case is possible using the corresponding button on the rear panel (Reset). For fidelity, you can simply disconnect the device from the mains for about 10-15 seconds. This is quite enough. However, this only works for situations when, for whatever reason, it is not possible to enter the web interface.
You can return the modem to the factory state differently. To do this, at the bottom of the device, you need to find a special hole, indicated by the inscription Reset, with a needle, press the button located inside, hold it for 10-15 seconds, and then release it. The device will reboot, and all settings will be completely reset, even if previously manual settings were made with their saving.
Conclusion
As can be seen from the foregoing, there is nothing particularly complicated in setting up the Promsvyaz M-200 A modem. Here the most basic thing is to set the correct parameters for the items indicated in the corresponding sections. In extreme cases, if something does not work, you can reset and set the desired options again. But what’s most interesting, if the modem itself turns out to be inoperative or there is a technical breakdown, the operator must replace the device. This, so to speak, is the trump card when buying a router of this modification.
