Pedagogical Institute in Gomel - the beginning of higher education
Francis Skorina University in Gomel appeared in 1929, when the Soviet authorities decided to take up the construction of educational infrastructure in Belarusian Polesie. Then the Agro-Pedagogical Institute arose, providing three areas of specialist training for secondary schools: physical, technical, socio-historical, literary and linguistic.
