Viktor Pavlovich Barannikov was born in 1940, on the twentieth of October (place of birth: v. Fedosyevka, Pozharsky district of Primorye). Having received a certificate of maturity, the young man got a job as a simple turner at the Yelabuga Mechanical Plant.
In 1961, he goes to study at a local police school. In parallel with this, Viktor Pavlovich Barannikov decides to change his profession and goes to work in the police as a precinct.
Career in the "power" department
The young man, being diligent and industrious in work, quickly climbed the career ladder. Having received a diploma of graduation from the police school, he submits documents to the Higher School of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RSFSR (Sverdlovsk Branch) and becomes a student of this university. In 1968, he successfully completed it. First, he is appointed to lead the "local" department, and then they are offered the position of assistant to the head of the police department in the district. Naturally, Barannikov agrees. At the end of the seventies, Viktor Pavlovich already heads the Department of Internal Affairs of the Moscow Region Korolev (at that time - Kaliningrad MO). In 1983, Barannikov was offered a job in the central office of the “union” Ministry of Internal Affairs. Soon he will head one of the departments of the OBKhSS, profiling on crimes with currency and theft of precious metals.

In the late 80s, a graduate of the Higher School of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will leave for Azerbaijan as the first assistant to the minister of the republican “power department”. In the new team of Boris Nikolaevich there was a place for Barannikov. He was assigned to a profile job: Viktor Pavlovich began to lead the Federal Security Agency.
Then the body was reformed (became the Ministry of Security of the Russian Federation), but Viktor Pavlovich remained at its head. Then Barannikov was awarded the rank of army general. Arrest

Death
Viktor Barannikov passed away in the summer of 1995. While in his own country house, he read newspapers ... Death came suddenly. Doctors stated that her cause was a heart attack.
