Friday Prayer: Procedure

For Muslims, there is no more sacred and important day than Friday. The Jews have Saturday, the Christians Sunday, and the Muslims the fifth day of the week. Indeed, it was on this day that the Almighty completed the creation of Adam, on this day he settled him on Paradise, on that day he expelled him from there. And it will be Judgment Day on Friday. Therefore, the meaning of Friday prayers in Islam (juma-namaz) has a special meaning for every true believer.

A visit to the mosque on Friday is required for all adult males. An exception is made only for patients, children, travelers and women. Only natural disaster is recognized as the only reason not to attend the mosque.

Preparation for prayer

On Friday, for every Muslim, there is no more important thing than doing juma prayer. Therefore, he should put aside trade and all other worries and concentrate on the spiritual aspect of his life.

In the morning she should completely wash herself, perfume with incense, put on festive clothes and direct her thoughts to the Almighty. And then with peace of mind and humility go to the mosque on foot. An early visit to the mosque is very welcome. After all, Allah will reward everyone according to his zeal.

Features of the juma prayer

Namaz in any prepared place

Friday prayers are performed in a mosque or specially designed place, which is open to all comers. The imam must have special permission to conduct juma prayer. The time for Friday prayer coincides with the performance of the usual midday prayer (zuhr). It takes place until the shadow of the objects becomes equal to their height. If you are late, it is forbidden to disturb and distract the audience.

Muslim theologians do not have a consensus on the number of believers needed to hold Friday prayers. Hanafi scholars talk about the need for a minimum of 3 people. Shafiites and Hanbalis insist on 40 parishioners.

The first juma namaz in the month of ramadan

There is also no agreement on the question of whether the Friday prayer replaces the prayer zuhr. The opinions of scientists agree when there is only one mosque in the village. In this case, it is not necessary to perform the zuhr prayer. If there are more, then interpretations vary.

Hanafi theologians argue that in any case, it is enough to perform only juma prayer. Shafiites hold the opposite view. According to their instructions, midday prayer may not be read in only one mosque. Namely, in the one where a certain part of the Friday prayer will be performed some time earlier than the others in the city. The Malikite scholars have a similar point of view. They consider it unnecessary to read the midday prayer in the mosque where the Friday prayer was completed before the others. Hanbalistic scholars allow not to pray zuhr where the head of the city or state is present.

It should be noted that Friday prayer is irreplaceable. If the time for its completion is over, then the prayer of zuhr is recited.

Passing punishment

There is no good reason to skip Juma prayer except for illness, bad weather and travel. This day in the Qur'an is set aside for thoughts about the soul, praise of the Almighty, a prayer for help and intercession. Thus, this prayer is needed first of all to the believer himself. And to the one who misses her three times in a row, Allah will seal his heart. This means that a person is sliding into disbelief. He had the opportunity to see and hear the truth, and he turned away from it. For this he was destined for unspeakable torment in his subsequent life.

Preaching

Listen carefully to the sermon

Another feature of the Friday prayer is the imam's reading of two sermons. The first of these concerns current topics for every Muslim in the region. The second is instructive and instructive.

Every believer is obliged to listen very carefully and intently. After all, preaching serves to gain spiritual strength and knowledge for believers. It fills his heart and touches the subtle facets of the soul. It reminds of the eternal and will serve as a moral and moral reference point in all its affairs. Therefore, any conversations during the sermon are forbidden. Even the remark addressed to the negotiating is unacceptable and is considered a sin.

Order of Conduct

There is a clear canon on how to perform Friday prayers. It consists of four consecutive Sunnah racquets, two farda racquets, and four more Sunnah racquets.

Four Rakata Sunnahs:

  • After the first azan (call to prayer), everyone says “salavat” and recites the traditional prayer. Then the nyat (intention) is pronounced about the reading of the four rakahs of the Friday Sunnah prayer. The sequence of their fulfillment is the same as that of midday prayer. Performed by each believer on their own.
  • At the end, the time for the first sermon comes. The Imam ascends to the Minbar and greets the faithful. The second azan is pronounced. After its completion, everyone says "salavat" and again read the traditional prayer. The sermon ends with a prayer to the Almighty and the prayer of Du’a is read.
  • The second sermon must be shorter than the first. I must say that on Friday the sermons should be short and the prayers long.
Dua Prayer

Two raccoon farda:

  • Ikamat is pronounced (second call to prayer).
  • After it follows the NIAT about the commission of two rak'ah farda. They are performed in the same way as the two rak'ahs of the morning prayer fard. The imam leads them out loud.

Four Rakata Sunnahs:

  • A traditional nyat is pronounced about committing four rak'ahs of the Sunnah.
  • After that, the believer prays in the same way as during the first four rakahs of the Friday prayer.
  • Upon completion, it is advisable to perform tasbihat (praise to Allah) with the imam, without getting up.

Friday prayer in the life of a Muslim

Latecomers should not disturb those present

In modern life, a Muslim does not have much opportunity and time to meet with fellow believers to communicate on spiritual and religious topics. Constant worldly cares and a fast pace of life do not give the opportunity to think about something else. And then Friday comes, and every true believer is obliged to think about the mercy of Allah, his place in the world and spiritual development. After all, the soul, like the body, also needs care and care. And Friday prayer in the mosque just gives such an opportunity.

It is very good if, at the end of the prayer, the parishioners do not immediately go home. The fellowship of believers gives them strength and strengthens the entire Muslim community. The whole Friday prayer procedure is aimed at strengthening faith, acquiring new knowledge and achieving spiritual balance. No wonder it was said that attending Friday prayers atone for all petty sins.
