Lermontov Avenue. Metro came to the outskirts

Last fall, the first passengers of the Zhulebino and Lermontovsky Prospekt stations were received. The metro in this direction stepped over the Moscow ring road and came to the remote outskirts. What preceded this?

A brief excursion into history

The transport situation in the south-east of Moscow was quite tense in the Soviet era. Residents of the capital's suburbs often felt like Muscovites of the second grade. But in recent years, the situation has escalated to the utmost extent. This is associated both with an increase in traffic flows, leading to paralysis of traffic along all major highways during rush hours, and to the general remoteness of large residential areas from the center of the capital. Inconsistency in transport infrastructure was a brake on the development of the Vykhino and Zhulebino districts. Attempts to solve the transport problem were made back in Soviet times, but they were expressed only in the development of a feasibility study for the extension of the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line in a southeast direction. But they did not begin any real actions in those years. It was still very difficult for Muscovites and guests of the capital to get to such streets as Lermontovsky Avenue. The metro appeared here only a few months ago. And this event cannot be underestimated.

The commissioning of the launch site of the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya metro line to the Zhulebino station in the fall of 2013 was a significant milestone in the development of transport infrastructure throughout Moscow southeast. The construction of distillation tunnels and stations was not easy. The question of when the Lermontovsky Prospekt metro will open was of interest not only to the inhabitants of this street, but also to the inhabitants of all the surrounding neighborhoods. The opening of the metro station would allow residents of Zhulebino to get to the center of the capital in no more than half an hour. But its commissioning was postponed several times. The construction of the Lermontovsky Prospekt metro was fraught with a number of difficulties, both technical and financial. The project of the line and its linkage to the terrain and quarter planning were repeatedly revised and refined. Big problems, in particular, arose in July 2013 at the distillation tunnel going towards the Vykhino station. It was flooded over a long period due to a breakthrough of groundwater. This difficult site was the old Kosinsky swamp. Metrostroevtsy successfully overcame the difficulties that arose on their way.

Significant event

Without the slightest exaggeration, the date of November 9, 2013 can be considered historical. On this day, the Lermontovsky Prospekt metro station received the first passengers. The metro train delivered them to the Taganskaya area to the interchange hub of the Ring Line and then to the northeast of the capital. This day is significant because the residents of the Vykhino-Zhulebino microdistricts located beyond the Ring Road have ceased to feel like outcasts cut off from metropolitan life. The way to work and back began for many to fit within one hour. And you can ride in comfort without looking back at traffic jams.

Let us take a closer look at what the new station is in architectural terms. It is quite unusual in its design concept. In many European cities, especially in countries located on the Scandinavian Peninsula, a similar style of interior decoration can be seen not so rarely. But within the Moscow metro, it had not been distributed before. Art historians define this style with the term high-tech. It is characterized by simplicity and expressiveness of lines and volumes. As well as the brightness of the decoration. In its constructive type, it is a single-arch spacious shallow station. From it, access is made to Khvalynsky Boulevard and, of course, to Lermontov Avenue itself.

Prospects for further development

Despite the commissioning of the station, its construction has not yet been fully completed. This applies to both finishing work and the further development of the Lermontovsky Prospekt station. Metro continues to be built. And in the near future, this station will be a transfer. From it, the transition to the Kosino station of the Kozhukhovskaya line will be carried out. According to preliminary calculations, it will enter the operational system in December 2015. The Kozhukhovskaya line is currently being actively built. In addition, the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line will receive further development in the southeast direction. It will continue to a hundred

What's new in Vykhino and Zhulebino?

The commissioning of new metro stations radically changed the quality of life of the former Moscow suburbs. Vykhino and Zhulebino obviously outlined new prospects for the development of the economy, industry, business and commercial life. The presence of modern transport infrastructure has made these areas much more attractive for both ordinary residents and business people. This is evidenced even by analytical reviews of the development of demand for real estate. Real estate agencies indicate its significant growth. Both residential premises in the southeast and commercial areas have become more popular. There are more people choosing, in the past, not the popular Zhulebino for permanent residence.
