The Army Group is a complete exception to the rule. Against the background of most existing women's groups (both Ukrainian and foreign), soloists not only sing well, but also dance. Therefore, the admiration of the audience and the desire of other artists to imitate them is understandable.
Group foundation
The biography of the “Army” begins in 2007. The group was organized in Kiev. If you believe the information posted on the official website, its founder was producer Nikitin Yuri. He selected girls for the team for a long time and carefully. Each member of the “Army” is not a novice in show business, some worked for quite some time in the best ballet troupes, behind the shoulders of others - sports categories, and some even were awarded the title of master of sports.
Weapons of mass destruction
The Army Group has developed rapidly. The team was even called a weapon of mass destruction. Bright musical material and dance shows that accompanied all the songs of the group brought the girls popularity.
After the enchanting performance in Chile, the soloists of the “Army” had a lot of foreign fans. Latinos would gladly carry the girls in their arms; there was no free space in the hotel room, since everything was filled with flowers brought. “What happened there?” They are interested in Ukrainian vocalists at corporate parties and weddings. Girls joyfully share their impressions of participating in the festival and proudly tell that they were spotted by the Latin American star DJ Mendez.
Army Group: composition
The “fiery” vocalist Anastasia Snadnaya and blonde Irina Stepanova did not leave the original collective. For some time Oksana Zadorozhnaya, the famous dancer Yulia Kavtaradze and the Ukrainian singer Anastasia Kumeyko (today she is better known as the soloist of the Nikita group) were in the “Army” . In 2009, a new member appeared in the group - DJ Matilda, she became famous thanks to her lesbian show. She has already made her contribution to the development of the team, and today she performs independently.
After the girls appeared in the Ukrainian show business, a big hype began. Indeed, at a time when other singers in position left the stage, one vocalist of the Army took part in each concert until the eighth month of pregnancy, and she managed to perform choreographic tricks that were absolutely incredible for a simple person.
The erotic photo session of the soloists of the group for the men's magazine Playboy became a real sensation. The photos were unique, because not every woman dares to openly pose, being at the 8th month of pregnancy, as one of the participants did. Girls three times hit the cover of the popular glossy magazine for men EGO.
The latest changes in the composition occurred in 2010: Vera Varlamova, the finalist of the Superzirka talent show, joined the Army. Nature endowed her with a unique voice with a range of 4 octaves.
On the account of the group is an advertising campaign of the global brand Adidas, “Partner Bank”, the sports complex “Kyivsportklub”, also girls represent the karaoke club “PatіFon”.
Performances on international stages
The Army music group has repeatedly represented its country at the Vina del Mar international music festival in Chile, the largest in South America (compared to Eurovision in scale). All participants must sing live, the use of the phonogram is prohibited. The group performed with dignity on the same stage with Sting, Pit Bull, from the mayor of the city received a prize of audience sympathy, and journalists called the team a Ukrainian sensation. Extravagant outfits, frank interviews and provocative antics of girls for another two weeks were described on Latin American channels and in tabloids. One of the vocalists fought for the Queen’s crown in the national beauty contest, and, it is worth noting, quite successfully: she was ahead of local beauties and even famous models.
As mentioned earlier, the group’s participation in the festival ended with acquaintance and collaboration with the popular rapper DJ Mendez. After meeting with the girls, he dedicated the new track Let me be to this unforgettable group, to which they jointly shot a video in Ukraine.
Albums of the Army Group
The collective has the single “We did it”, released in 2007, 6 clips, the album “About It” and a lot of hits.
The disc “About This” was released in 2009 and was immediately sold out, with a huge circulation. The release of the album was as unexpected as the very idea of the appearance of the “Army”. The main problem of modern show business is the similarity of artists and their repertoires. The Army group was an exception to the rule, which caused admiration of the audience.
The music of the collective makes the days bright and pushes to conquer more and more peaks. The Army group sings about what is interesting to modern youth.
