A beautiful decoration of your home for the upcoming New Year holidays can be a fireplace. The real one, of course, is very expensive, and you can’t place such a fireplace in the apartment at all. There are still electric fireplaces, but they are also far from cheap. Where, then, can I get it? There is nothing left to do but draw a fireplace - an inexpensive and quick way. To do this, you will need minimal drawing skills, simple materials and a desire to create. You can easily cope with this task in one evening.
What is needed
In order to have an idea of how to draw a fireplace, you need to find its suitable example on the Internet. After the picture is found, you need to decide on the place where the painted fireplace will be placed and what size it will be.
Now you can safely go to the store for art supplies, unless, of course, you have everything you need at home.
You will need the following:
- Whatman. It is better to take a large paper size with a margin. If necessary, excess can be cut off, but if it is not enough, it will be very unpleasant.
- A simple pencil.
- Eraser.
- Ruler.
- It’s better to take gouache paints, since it’s easier to paint a fireplace on a Whatman paper. They easily overlap each other and you can overlap several layers.
- Two brushes, thin and thick.
- A jar of water to breed paint.
How to draw a fireplace
It is better to place the fireplace on paper vertically, although this will depend on the place where you then attach it.
First you need to use the ruler to mark and draw the side walls and the top in the form of a mantelpiece, and also in the center to mark the place of the firebox for firewood in the form of an arch.
The facade of the fireplace will look more impressive if it is "faced" with brick. Bricks can be drawn using a ruler, so they will look neat and even, or draw brickwork by hand. It already depends on your imagination.
Now we draw logs blazing in the firebox.
If you are at a loss how to draw fire in a fireplace, then the suitable photo will help you. Of course, you can ease your task by depicting only the fire itself without firewood. Draw tongues of flame tending upward in smooth curving lines.
Getting started coloring
Before you start painting, attach a sheet with a fireplace drawn by a pencil to the wall and, having gone a few steps, evaluate your work from a distance. Check the evenness of the walls and the placement of the firebox. If no errors were found and you are completely satisfied with your work at this stage, then feel free to proceed with gouache painting.
To get started, mix the red and brown colors and paint over the bricks, remembering to leave a distance between them. Then you paint it with black paint. Brown the top of the fireplace. You can add thin dark brown lines to simulate a tree.
It was the turn to revive your fireplace by drawing a fire in the firebox. Your task is to make it as bright as possible by mixing red and yellow colors. This will be the primary color. Cover them with most of the fire. Draw its base with a clear yellow color and add a few separate flames to it. Allow the drawing to dry completely before proceeding with the final step.
Now you need to darken the place around the flame so that it starts to play even brighter. Carefully, trying not to touch the flame, circle it with a dark brown color and paint over the mouth of the fireplace. It is not superfluous to add bright sparkles on a dark background around the bonfire.
Decor
After the drawing is completely dry, you just have to put the finished fireplace in the right place. It is not necessary to glue it to the wall, especially to wallpaper. You can use a piece of cardboard or a box for this.
Since you have a fireplace painted for the New Year, the picture will not be complete without holiday decorations. One of the most popular traditions is hanging socks for New Year's gifts on the mantelpiece. Decorative socks can be made independently from colored cardboard or felt. Or draw on whatman paper and cut it out. You can glue New Year's tinsel to the fireplace and everything that seems appropriate to you.
In fact, following the instructions and keeping examples in front of you, it is not so difficult to draw a fireplace, as it might have seemed at first. Of course, you will have to try, but the result of the work will please you and your loved ones, and create an atmosphere of comfort and a New Year's mood.
