Homemade Gas Burner

It's no secret that still not all houses have gas stoves, and they have to cook on electricity. It also happens that there’s simply nothing to cook on. This is especially true for hiking. In this case, homemade invented man-made burners that run on liquid fuel: gasoline and alcohol. Today we learn what a gas burner is made of and how effective it is in cooking.

Such a device can be taken with you on a hike, to a country house, to the sea, or quickly made in case of a sudden lack of electricity or gas, or for temporary heating in cold weather. Also, a homemade gas burner will be useful in places where it is forbidden to make a fire, or if you do not want to attract attention - the device is capable of generating a flame that is sufficient for cooking, but practically no fire is visible. This method of cooking is ideal for cases where there is no firewood nearby, or you are on a mountain peak where it is difficult to light a flame.

We will say right away that a gasoline burner is made in different ways with our own hands, but today we will remember the simplest that even a woman will be able to repeat, and for this she will not need any locksmith tools. Also, this method is useful for the ecology of the planet, because we will produce a burner from waste material.

Gas burner: an easy way to make at home

You can find a prototype of such a device in a store for hunters, fishers, and tourists near fishing rods, flasks, and tents. The cost of the burner in the store is more than 400 rubles. If you prefer to save money, or the need to create a hearth overtook you right on the hike, then read on the instructions for making a gas burner.

Take 2 empty cans of beer, cola or condensed milk. We will use their bottom. Make 4 punctures in the middle of the bottom of the first can with a nail or a button (the holes should be small).

Next, you will need to pierce the same holes around the perimeter of the rim of the can. This will be the workpiece of the upper part of the burner - camphor, from which an even flame will beautifully burst out of the gas stove. Cut this part from the can. The length of the side should be about 2-3 centimeters.

Cut the bottom of the second can also. To avoid chipping, walk along the edges of the cut with fine sandpaper. Place a cotton wool soaked in gasoline at the bottom of your burner and cover it with the upper part of the burner so that it plays the role of an airtight cover.

If the parts do not touch tightly, you can insert tin strips left from the can in the gap between the walls.

Gas Burner: Application

Pour gasoline over the burner, where you made 4 holes so that the fuel fell on the rim of the can, where you also drilled holes. Set it on fire. The tin will quickly heat up, transfer heat to a ball of cotton wool soaked in gasoline, and the fumes from it will begin to stand out, which will maintain the fire in your burner. You should not set fire to the fleece itself: it is fraught with burns, and even if you succeed, the cotton wool will simply burn quickly. It is much more economical and more efficient to maintain the flame in the burner due to the vapors that are generated from the heating of the device.

Do not think that the can will melt: according to the laws of physics, the flame does not touch the surface of the burner to the degree of melting of the metal, but it burns what is above it. The final touch is the support on which the bowler will stand. It can be two steel bars, bent by the letter P and dug in the ground parallel to each other.

You can also use a wide can of stew with a trimmed bottom and top. Make holes in this cylinder below and above to allow air to flow into the flame. A gasoline burner should be centered on this cylinder, and you just have to enjoy cooking a delicious dinner.
