Childhood
The future star of Ukrainian and Russian show business was born in Lutsk in 1986, on April Fool's Day. Dimaâs family, in which, by the way, he grew up as an only child, was quite ordinary: mother â secretary, father â employee of the aircraft factory. A little later, when the son became older, the family opened a business.
Dima liked music since childhood, but it cannot be said that he was determined to become an artist even in his youth. He played several musical instruments, but for the time being all this was just a hobby. Until the eighth grade, Dmitry Monatic was no different from his peers. And then a break dance came into his life.
Dancing
For the first time, Dima met with break dance on the city square - that day there was some kind of show, and Dmitry was just nearby. The young man liked the expressive dance so much that he firmly decided: he would dance the same way and even better. Without delaying the matter, he enrolled in a dance group and began to work hard. Purposefulness and independence were characteristic of Dima from an early age: if he outlined something, he would achieve it. It happened with break-dance: after a very short time, Dima became one of the best in the team. So dances firmly entered his life, now the biography of Monatic without them is unthinkable.
Dima was only fourteen years old when the team in which he performed became the best in all of Western Ukraine. After such recognition, the team began to be invited to perform throughout the country. Together with all went and Dima. A similar state of affairs continued until the graduation class itself, and then it was time to decide on a further life course. Together with parents, a decision was made about the need to get a legal profession - Monatic was enrolled in this faculty in 2003.
The beginning of creativity
Do not think that when he became a law student, there was no place or time for creativity in the biography of Monatic. He managed to successfully combine his studies, dances, and music. He began to study the latter more seriously already in his senior years - inseparable love became the fault of many, like many other artists. Dima drowned his sadness and pain in creativity.
And then he decided to try his hand at the Ukrainian "Star Factory". The first season of the project started in 2007, Dmitry got to the casting of the second, already in 2008. He didnât get into the show, but he was no less fortunate: Natalia Mogilevskaya, the famous singer who was the producer on this project, noticed a talented young man. And not just noticed - she liked him so much that she offered Dima help in moving to Kiev and working in her ballet. Of course, he grabbed the chance he had and immediately agreed.
Through hardship to the stars
In 2009, Dima got a crust on higher education. Nothing more connected him, and he could devote all his time to creativity - music and dancing. He worked as a teacher in one of the dance schools, while at the same time honing his skills, he also gathered his first musical group. Dmitry simply called it - in his honor: Monatique. Together with this team, Dima performs in Kiev clubs, performing songs of his own composition - of course, about love.
A year later, in the biography of Monatik, a ballet appeared under the direction of Nikolai Boychenko, the famous Ukrainian choreographer. For two years, Dmitry worked in a team, being one of the leading dancers - often he was trusted with the main roles in the productions, and he always justified the trust placed in him.
TV projects
2010 became rich for various competitions for Dima. First, he got on the project âEverybody Dance!â (In the third season). Despite the fact that the young artist did not become a finalist, experts named him among the thirty best dancers of the country. It was a recognition, it was a success that inspired Dima to work even more diligently and responsibly.
Having shown himself as a dancer, he decided in the same year to test his vocal abilities and was accepted into the popular X-Factor show. This time, he also did not reach the finals, but showed himself from the best side and was remembered by both the audience and the mentors. And so much so that the famous singer Elka (she was part of the judges on the project) wanted to work with a talented young man. As a result, it was Dima who became the choreographer of the next clip of the artist (âOn a Large Balloonâ), which was a serious step forward. Creativity Monatic began to gain momentum.
Popularity
A year after participating in projects, âlit upâ and clinging to the threshold of the musical Olympus, Dima (not without the help of Nikolai Boychenko and his ballet) released his first video clip for the song âTaiUletayuâ (words and music were written by Dima himself). The clip was shot on a mobile phone, and then uploaded to the Internet, on Youtube. The video, as they say, blew up the network - in a few days it scored a phenomenal number of views. Six months later, the success of the first clip was repeated by the second - for the song "Air." Dima gained popularity.
And she became even more entrenched when Dmitry Monatik, a Ukrainian singer, wrote the song âForty Degreesâ for his colleague Svetlana Loboda. The composition instantly became a hit and brought its portion of fame not only to the performer, but also to the author - they also talked about Dima as a talented songwriter. From this very moment he began to collaborate with many eminent and aspiring artists as an author and continues to do so to this day.
Three years ago, thanks to a signed contract with one of the largest Ukrainian agencies, Dima began touring the country - and a warm welcome awaited him everywhere. It was then that in the biography of Monatic, his current stage name appeared, under which now he is known not only in his homeland, but also in Russia.
Two years later, Dmitry tried himself as a mentor in the Ukrainian version of the famous show âVoice. Children". In his own words, it was very easy for him to work with the guys, because he feels on the same wavelength with them - he watches cartoons, reads comics, is interested in the same things and always knows what to talk about with the younger generation.
Monatic: albums
At the moment, Dima has released two discs. The first, titled "S.S.D." ("The Soundtrack of Today"), was released four years ago.
It included thirteen compositions. Work on the second record lasted for three years. Last year, the album âSoundsâ - with hits such as âSpinningâ, âSleepâ, âWetâ, âHushâ and so on - finally reached its fans.
Monatic: awards and nominations
So far, Dima has more nominations than awards, but, as they say, âitâs not yet eveningâ - he has everything ahead. He received the first prize three years ago as the author of the song âForty Degreesâ. A year later, there was a nomination for âBest Singerâ and a victory in the category âBreakthrough of the Yearâ at the M1 Music Awards.
Last year, Dima received the award as the best singer, and he was nominated in three more categories: best solo artist, best duet (with Quest Pistols Show) and best dance video. This year, Dima managed to win the nominations âBest Albumâ and âBest Video Clipâ.
Personal life
There is enough information about Monatikâs biography on the Internet, but there is practically no information about one thing - about the personal life of the artist. Dima himself repeatedly admitted in an interview that, being a fairly open and sociable person, he does not like to talk about personal things, because it should remain that way.
Nevertheless, it is known that the young artist is married, his wife's name is Ira. They signed two years ago, and before that they just met for several years. Dima and Ira also have children - there are two of them, the youngest child was born this year.
