Mitsubishi Pajero - Japanese All-Wheel Drive

Few global brands show the world a long and rich history of development. Such world-famous brands include the Japanese giant, a veteran of ship and military equipment - Mitsubishi. This company boasts the release of several generations of four-wheel drive Mitsubishi Pajero. Like a few famous companies, this concern was named not in honor of its founder.

Mitsubishi Pajero

The Mitsubishi brand has almost a century and a half history. Moreover, initially, in 1870, the birth of the company was associated with shipping. Over time, the organization expanded, creating new industries and developing new technologies. Automotive industry appeared as one of the branches of the concern. With the development and change of the company’s activities, its name also changed. Yataro Iwasaki - the founder of the company - originally, in 1870, christened his brainchild as Tsukumo Shokai. Then the name changed several times, and in 1875 the concern became known as the Mitsubishi Mail Steamship Campani, a huge number of cars were produced under its wing, one of which is Mitsubishi Pajero.

The development of the automotive branch began in the first decade of the 20th century. It was then that Iwasaki released the first passenger car from the assembly line of the plant. However, the machine did not become popular and was discontinued, although society appreciated this device quite high. This Mitsubishi Model A was the starting point for the appearance of all models of the concern, including Mitsubishi Pajero.

Mitsubishi Pajero Sport

The emergence of this model dates back to the early 80s of the 20th century. Before this, there was a split in the corporation, the automobile branch went into a separate free float and was called Mitsubishi Motors Corporation. In 1982, Mitsubishi Pajero was released from the assembly line of an independent education. Clear lines, a brutal appearance, a comfortable interior and excellent characteristics distinguished this SUV from similar cars on the market. It was this device that gained fame not only as a powerful SUV, but also as a great rally car. Confirmation is the huge number of awards won in various competitions (Paris-Dakar, Tunisia, Paris-Granada).

This all-wheel-drive brutal device, fully justifying its name (pajero - a predatory animal living in South America, something similar to our lynx), has become one of the few SUVs that can boast of several successful generations. So, an excellent example is its modification - Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. The beginning of the release of this sports version falls on 1998, the release continues for twelve years. Then, in 2008, society saw the second generation of this model.

Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Characteristics

This five-door unit is made on the basis of the Mitsubishi L200. By the way, a remarkable fact is that in America the name of this “offspring” Pajero sounds like Montero Sport, and in Japan - Mitsubishi Challenger. The vast experience that the engineers of the concern have gained during various competitions and rallies laid the foundation for the creation of the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.

The characteristics of this fantastic device meet the requirements of even the most sophisticated motorists. The obstinate front bumper, the headlights aggressively looking at the world are pacified by smooth transition lines and rounded planes. This is what a modern SUV should look like: the brutal power of an all-wheel drive friend, the high ground clearance and the ferocious sound of a three-liter engine that conceals the power of 177 “horses” - these data made a huge impression on fans of large and formidable cars.
