Repair in the house is a fascinating and creative process, but at the same time quite costly, both financially and in time. Surface painting is considered the last final work. How to choose the right roller
To paint different surfaces, rollers of various sizes are required. For a large surface, you need to take a wider roller, about 250 mm, and to paint the window wooden frame, a roller with a width of 30 mm is enough. The remaining rollers having an intermediate size are selected based on the convenience of work.
- Foam rollers are used to work with varnishes, primers and water dispersion paints. When using emulsion paint, such rollers are better not to use, when they work on the surface to be painted, bubbles remain, which visually spoils the quality.
- Velor rollers are used when working with oil paints and emulsions; as a result, they get an even, smooth surface. But there is a small minus: they absorb a little paint, so you often have to type it.
- For the manufacture of fur rollers use natural fur, such as sheepskin, or artificial. A roller with natural fur, of course, will cost more, but it will last much longer. The more relief the painted surface, the longer the pile should be. Fur rollers are used when using oil paints and emulsions. After this, the ceiling should be impregnated with a primer, it can be applied in two layers. Work must be done with glasses. After the primer dries well, the ceiling should be sanded and then primed again. The next step is the application of the last layer of putty. After all the measures taken, the ceiling should be sanded and painted.
How to paint walls with a water-based paint roller
Water-based paint coat the surface in three layers. Painting should start from the lightest parts of the room (from the window) and go to darker ones. The paint needs to be poured into a special tray, then soak the roller with paint. All types of these rollers can be used on any smooth, even surface; wood and metal rollers are best used on plaster.
