History of creation
The creation of the Republican Party in the United States took place on February 28, 1854. In the city of Ripon (Wisconsin), the union of two political organizations took place. It was the party of the Free Earth and the “Conscience” faction from the Whigs.
Organizations united as opponents of slavery. Representatives of the new political force reflected the interests of industrialists in the northern United States. They became a serious counterweight to the Democratic Party, which relied on the planters and slaveholders of the South.
Having come to power in the North, they advocated the abolition of slavery and began distributing "free" land to everyone. By “free” was meant the land on which the Indians lived, but no one took them into account.
During the Civil War, the reasons for which are largely related to the confrontation between the economically developed North and the non-developing South, whose planters used slaves from Africa for work, the Republicans came to power.
They led the presidential and parliamentary elections for almost 50 years until 1912. At this time, there is a split in the Republic of Poland and the Progressive Party of Theodore Roosevelt leaves it. Democratic forces will control US political life with short interruptions until 1968.
The decline of the Republic of Poland is associated with the resignation of President Richard Nixon in the mid-70s of the twentieth century. After a few years, everything changed. Further development is associated with the activities of President Ronald Reagan. In his time, the party was updated.

- abortion restriction;
- counteraction in increasing the minimum wage, research in the field of cloning, the introduction of euthanasia, the creation of trade unions in non-state enterprises;
- pursuing a more aggressive foreign policy.
According to Republicans, it is necessary to minimize government participation in the economy. At the same time, they act with restrictions in the lives of many people. So they advocate restricting abortion, same-sex marriage, pornography, and prostitution. Interesting is the RP’s conviction that the fight against global warming is supported by the Democrats in order to promote their own forces. Any measures to protect the environment, in their opinion, should be put on the back burner if this impedes business development.

First Republican President
Abraham Lincoln is considered the first President of the Republican Party. His name is forever associated with the abolition of slavery in the United States.
He grew up in an impoverished farm family, early began to earn physical labor. He attended school no more than a year, but this was enough to engage in further self-education.
After meeting with Justice of the Peace, Lincoln became interested in law. I tried myself in various positions - from the captain in the militia against the Indians to the land surveyor. Finally, at age 26, he was elected to the Legislative Assembly (Illinois). He sided with the Whigs.
A year later, Lincoln passed the exam and became a lawyer. He has been practicing law for 23 years.
In 1856, Abraham Lincoln joined the Republican Party, which opposed slavery. He believed that each state should decide this issue itself, but he was against the spread of slavery throughout the country. Due to his moderate views on slavery, he was nominated as a presidential candidate in the 1860 election. The Republican and Democratic Parties of the United States nominated their candidates.
Lincoln's victory was associated primarily with the support of the North, as well as with the split in the Democratic Party.
His reign is connected with the subsequent Civil War between the North and the South, which culminated in the adoption of the 13th amendment to the US Constitution on the abolition of slavery in the country.
Lincoln was shot in the head in 1865. His tragic death contributed to the creation of a halo of a martyr around his name, who at the cost of his own life reunited the country and freed the slaves.
He is considered one of the four presidents who determined the historical development of the United States. He is the first leader of the US Republican Party.
Dwight Eisenhower
The 34th president was a statesman and military figure. After leaving school, Dwight Eisenhower studied at the military academy. In political activity, he often quoted Abraham Lincoln. Once he even painted a portrait of his beloved president.
During the opening of the Second Front in 1944, Eisenhower was appointed Supreme Commander of the Expeditionary Force. After the war, he continued friendly relations with Marshal Zhukov.
Dwight Eisenhower began running for president instead of Nixon, who was accused of corruption. This was a bang for the Republicans. His activity he was supposed to correct the situation.
Having come to power, he was able to:
- end the unpopular war in Korea;
- stop the practice of persecution for leftist beliefs;
- organize the construction of the Interstate Highway System.

The famous actor, radio host and 40th president of the United States was born into a family that constantly moved. After school, he entered college at the faculty of economics and sociology. From his studies, he was interested in social life and playing sports.
The beginning of his career is connected with 1932, when he worked as a sports commentator on the radio. Five years later, he signed with Warner Bros. Studios as an actor. His film career consists of 54 feature films.
As an actor, he collaborated with the FBI. His task was to report on those workers who sympathize with the Communists.
In political life, Reagan was originally a democrat, he admired the activities of Franklin Roosevelt. However, over time, his views changed. In subsequent presidential companies, he supported Dwight Eisenhower and Richard Nixon.
He described his views in speeches on his own. Thanks to charisma in 1966, he was nominated as governor of California. In 1970, he was re-elected for a second term. During this time, his views as a politician were finally formed; he became a supporter of the state’s non-interference in the economy.
He made his attempt to become president in 1976. In this he was supported by the Republican Party of the United States. As president, he held out for two terms. His policy was called "Reaganomics."
George Bush
The 43rd President of the United States was the son of President George G.W. Bush. Therefore, he is often called George W. Bush.
