The techno-style in the interior is suitable for young, energetic and free people who do not care too much about the warmth and comfort of the house. Deliberate negligence, minimalism and artistic mess distinguishes this one from other interiors. However, in the skillful hands of designers, this style in the living room gets a special chic. Having arisen in the eighties of the last century, it has already ceased to amaze people with its unusualness and is firmly rooted in many houses.
Design Features
The design concept in the techno style is the creation of an interior that resembles a production room. Among the finishing materials, concrete, glass, metal are a priority. They should be the basis in decoration and decor.
Initially, the techno style was distinguished by the use of a rough texture and carelessness in design. Over time, it was interpreted, now the situation is carefully thought out and is distinguished by impeccability in all details.
The modern style of techno has incorporated the features of several areas in design, but still it has distinctive features:
- Clear lines throughout the design.
- Strict geometric shapes.
- The restraint of the color palette.
- Transparent, functional, but unusual furniture.
- Metal and glass household items.
- The most modern household appliances.
- Futuristic lighting.
- Heavy metal doors.
- Spiral staircase (in private households).
- Walls with a rough surface.
- A minimum of textiles and decor items.
Very often, bars, clubs, venues for events of foreign DJs are decorated in this style.
Finishing materials
The design uses new items in the finishing materials. The walls are equipped with plastic or metal panels. Often use brickwork without a topcoat. Also, the walls are finished with textured plaster with the effect of negligence or decorative brick tiles. Sometimes they use a coating of concrete, which is then treated with decorative varnish.

The theme of techno-style in the interior is complemented by metal doors. They are made massive, and in addition there are decorative rivets, frosted glass inserts. Lighting
One of the important elements of techno-style in the interior is lighting. This design is characterized by an abundance of light and spectacular intersection of light rays. Color scheme
Cold colors (metallic, shades of gray and white) should prevail in the interior. It is allowed to use blue, purple or eggplant as an accent. The discreet color palette does not look boring, as it is replaced by a play of light and original design.
Techno style rooms
- Kitchen. White plates here will be inappropriate; all dishes should be metal. A special role in the kitchen in the techno style is played by the set, which is best done on order. To decorate the facades of kitchen cabinets, the surface is varnished or coated with a metal paint. Household appliances should be the most modern (preferably unusual, futuristic form). For walls use waterproof paint or brickwork. The apron is made of glass or metal sheet.
- Living room. Walls made of concrete or brick can be left unprocessed or simple rough plaster can be applied to them. As a ceiling coating, metal plates resembling shields are used. Textiles and decor items are practically not used here, as the strict and ascetic style does not harmonize with soft bedspreads and fluffy carpets.
- Bedroom. In this room you can move away from the strict canons of style and allow yourself a little comfort. Usual wardrobes and small bedside tables are used. The style can be expressed in detail.
