Hernia on the wheel - so among motorists it is customary to call tire inflation. It can not always be seen, however, during movement, such a defect is almost always felt in the form of swaying or rhythmic shocks of the car even at low speed.
Most often, a hernia on a wheel appears after a carโs speed has entered a pit. Often at this moment, not only the rubber but also the disc itself gets damaged.
Side cuts can also cause bloating. If the problem arose with the new rubber, then there is a factory defect. In any case, if the โsymptomsโ described above occur, it is necessary to inspect the wheels for blisters.
What can cause a hernia on the wheel? It happens that a damaged power frame makes the treadmill curve (this leads to the buildup of the car). Driving with such damage will ultimately break the steering, which, if the wheel is on the front axle, will damage the tie rods.
Quite often, using a tire with even the smallest hernia can lead to unpleasant consequences. For example, during movement, an uneven tire increases pressure and temperature inside, which can cause deformation of the inner cord, respectively, creating a danger to the life of the driver and passengers during maneuvers at high speed. In addition, a hernia on the wheel can burst at any time and you will have to spend time and nerves to eliminate swelling or replace the wheel. Among the most common causes of tire explosion due to its inflation, the following can be distinguished: overloading the car, applying emergency braking, driving at high speed, re-entering the pit.
So, in the event of bloating, you need to put a spare tire or to deal with the elimination of a hernia. Tire repair in this case involves the use of a patch with an all-metal cord frame, the distinguishing feature of which is a special arrangement of metal cord threads. This frame allows you to maintain the shape of the rubber in place of its defect during pumping and prevents bloating.
When repairing the side of the tire, pay attention to the distance of the defect from the tire bead. If this segment is less than 40 mm, โredecoratingโ is impractical. It is also not recommended to use a multilayer patch on the side of the tire, since this can lead to increased stiffness of the area where the repair is performed, and this in turn threatens to detach the patch during movement.
Repairing a hernia on the tire in the shoulder area involves the use of a larger patch. This is caused by the likelihood of bloating immediately in two sections of the damaged cord, which often happens when hitting a hard obstacle.
After the swelling has been removed, a subtle bulge may occur at the repair site. This is due to the deformation of the rubber layer, which binds the patch to the surface of the tire during inflation. To prevent bloating, you need to choose a patch with a larger surface area and apply the hot vulcanization method, which can provide a strong bond between the patch and the tire.
