early years
Jordi Osbourne White was born June 20, 1971 in the small town of Coral Springs, Florida. When the boy was several years old, the family decided to move permanently to the south of the country, settling in the city of Fort Lauderdale. The guy was brought up with three younger brothers. The boys grew up without a father who left the family while Jordy was still in his infancy. Nothing is known about the fate of the latter. Providing guys engaged in a mother. First steps to success
The first musical group for Jordy White was the rock band The Ethiopians, which regularly performed in clubs and nightclubs in Fort Lauderdale. Then the guy took the place of guitarist and backing vocalist in the band Amboog-a-Lard, which was popular in the late 80s. At one time, the team was awarded several awards of the well-known Slammie Awards. In particular, Jordy White earned the title of best rhythm guitarist of the year.
In 1990, the musician began to communicate with vocalist Brian Warner, who is better known to a wide audience under the pseudonym Marilyn Manson. Our hero met the latter while working as a music salesman at the Broward Mall in Fort Lauderdale's hometown. The guys quickly found common interests. However, they did not cooperate. Only a few years later, Warner offered Jordy White the position of bass player in his own project - Marilyn Manson. The musician replaced one of the members of the band, who was expelled from the group for his addiction to drugs.
Once in the Marilyn Manson group, Jordi began performing under the pseudonym Twiggy Ramirez, which was composed of the famous British model and the creator of miniskirts named Twiggy, as well as the name of serial killer Richard Ramirez. According to the same principle, the stage nicknames formed for themselves the rest of the team.
Career at Marilyn Manson
At first, the musician Geordie White tried to copy the style of the former bass player of the popular band. However, later his stage image became original and unique. Recognition of the performer was ensured thanks to performances in a short women's dress and high military boots, as well as the application of aggressive makeup and defiant behavior towards the public.
Largely due to the creative achievements of White, the joint album of musicians, which was called Portrait of an American Family, soon saw the light of day. The producer of the successful record was the famous musician and vocalist of the Nine Inch Nails - Trent Reznor. It was with this band that Marilyn Manson toured at the dawn of a career, warming up the crowd.
In 1995, Jordy White recorded the main guitar parts for the second album, “Smells Like Children”. The success of the disc was facilitated by the inclusion of a cover version of the Eurythmics song called “Sweet Dreams” in the list of songs, which later became the band's real business card.
A year later, the light saw the next album Marilyn Manson - "Antichrist Superstar". The disc managed to cause a real sensation and make the group famous around the world. In the image of Twiggy Ramirez, guitarist Geordie White became the second face of the rock band after frontman Brian Warner.
Side projects of the musician
In 2002, White decided to leave the Marilyn Manson group. The reason was the disagreement with the rest of the team. At first, the musician concentrated on promoting his own project Good Moon, which offered listeners music with a “softer” sound. Subsequently, Jordi joined the popular band A Perfect Circle, and then became the bass player of the already well-known Nine Inch Nails.
Similarly, the musician’s career developed until 2007, when Brian Warner persuaded the guitarist to join Marilyn Manson back. At once, old friends recorded a new disc, which was called "The High End of Low." Presentation of the disc took place in 2008. Warner and White continue to work fruitfully to this day.
