Almost no one currently uses film cameras, and digital ones allow you to edit pictures through special programs. One of the means of correcting inaccuracies in the image or eliminating various spots is the "Restoring brush" in "Photoshop", and we’ll talk about it.
What is Photoshop?
With the development of digital cameras, a need arose to develop a special multifunctional editor. "Photoshop" was developed by Adobe Systems and was used to work with growth images, but also has some point tools in its functionality.
Today, Photoshop is used for processing both amateur and professional pictures. The program runs on the operating systems Windows and Mac OS.
In its assortment, the program has more than a hundred different tools and functions, as well as a large number of effects for editing photos. Including “Healing brush” in “Photoshop” is one of the ways to correct pictures.
What is a Healing Brush?
A repair brush is a tool that can repair defects based on nearby areas in the image. This function not only draws using the pixels selected in the picture, but also compares the lighting, transparency and darkness. Due to this, in the recovery process, a section is obtained that does not differ from the rest of the image.
Such functionality as the “Repairing brush” in “Photoshop” is applicable not only to images, but also to animations or videos.
How to use
To use this tool, select it in the panel. And then do the following.
First, click on the brush sample to select options.
- If you are working with a tablet, in the Size menu, select Pen Press, and also set the Copy Wheel - this will allow you to better use the program on the sensitive screen of the device. If during the work you do not need to zoom in or delete the photo, then click on the "Disable" item.
- Blend mode To preserve the noise and grain structure of the film, use a brush with a soft tip and click on "Replace".
- Pixel source for recovery work. There are two options: “Pattern” - then the pixels from the active image or “Pattern” will be used - they will be taken from the pattern.
- Alignment must be set for continuous sampling of pixels so as not to lose the desired point when releasing the mouse button. If it is not required, then uncheck the box.
- Select a sample from the specified layers. If correction is required only for the current layer, then set the option to active, if several, then all layers, and there is also the opportunity to set "current and next".
- Random - this parameter should be lowered to a minimum when working with a coarse-grained image.
Secondly, set the production point. To do this, click in any recovery area while holding down the Alt key. When developing several images at once, consider that they should have the same color gamut.
Thirdly, you can set additional parameters in the "Clone Source" panel, where you can define up to five different generation sources.
When you release the mouse button, the image is edited. We looked at how to use the Healing Brush in Photoshop. Now let's move on to the point variant.
Chiseled brush
If you need to quickly remove any stains from the image or other small defects, then the point "Repairing brush" in "Photoshop" will help. It works by analogy with the usual one, that is, it uses pixels and compares them with the image, but it does not need to specify a point for the sample. She takes as a basis the area around the restored site.
To make image adjustments with this tool, do the following:
- Select a dot brush on the toolbar, and it’s better to add a larger diameter recovery area.
- Select the pixel area along the edge of which the overlay should occur, use them to create a texture. And also add an option to evaluate the nearest content to fill the area without noticeable boundaries.
- Select a "sample of all layers." Only then click on the patch area.
Thus, the point “Repairing brush” in “Photoshop” will correct image defects.
What to do if an error occurs
Sometimes errors may occur associated with the operation of this tool. In the most critical situations, if the Repair Brush does not work in Photoshop and other editing elements are also unavailable, you should reinstall the program with the antivirus disabled.
If the incorrect operation is associated only with the brush itself, then most likely you have chosen the wrong layers or the use of stamps. Check all of the Healing Brush settings from the sample above and try again.
