Before a graduate student, sooner or later, the following questions will surely arise:
- What is a candidate minimum and what is the purpose of the conduct?
- How can I pass it?
- How difficult will it be?
- What exams?
- Where will it be better to pass the candidate minimum: in your region, or at the place of defense?
Candidate exams are the basic and one of the main parts in the certification of scientific personnel. Their goal will be to determine the depth of professional skills and knowledge of the graduate student, as well as to determine the level of his readiness for research work independently.
Candidate minimum must be passed on specialty, foreign language and philosophy of science.
To obtain permission to pass the exam in the philosophy of science, you need to prepare and pass an abstract. Methodological recommendations are usually available at the Office of Graduate and Doctoral Studies at any university. It must be borne in mind that the basic requirements and writing rules of each educational institution are different.
Admission to passing the candidate minimum in the specialty will be issued only if there are scientific publications in journals reviewing the Higher Attestation Commission.
It usually includes two main blocks:
- the standard program is the minimum candidate, which is developed by a leading scientific institution in this industry or a higher educational institution;
- additional program, which was developed by the relevant department of this university.
A candidate’s minimum in a foreign language must be submitted in accordance with an exemplary educational program developed and approved by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science. It includes the following tasks.
Firstly, the correct translation and annotation of six hundred thousand printed characters.
Secondly, a translation into Russian from a foreign language, made in writing. The volume of the task is from fifteen to twenty thousand printed characters.
A prerequisite is that registration cards on completed tasks must be filled out, signed by the teachers accepting the candidate minimum.
If we talk about the mode of passing exams, then over the years there has been such a practice that exams are taken at least twice a year in any university. Applicants are invited to a session, the duration and duration of which is established directly by the institution that conducts the reception of candidate exams.
The procedure is also determined at the level of the university. Candidate minimum
can be rented out on tickets, as well as without them. Knowledge will be assessed in accordance with school requirements: "excellent", "unsatisfactory", "good", "satisfactory. The exam is given only one attempt. Repeated candidate minimum must not be in one session.
The applicant should keep in mind the following fact: if all exams are successfully passed, then a certificate is issued that gives the right to proceed with the defense of the candidate dissertation. But it is not a basic document on education.
A certificate is a document made in the prescribed form. The final version will be issued where he will pass the final exam. The duration of the candidate minimum and the issued document is not limited.
The main reference document that will help the applicant to navigate the basic rules for passing these exams is the "Regulation on the preparation of scientific, pedagogical and scientific personnel in the system of postgraduate professional education in the Russian Federation." But keep in mind that there are changes from March 16, 2000, November twenty-seventh of the same year, and February 17, 2004. This document is an Appendix to the main order of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation dated March 28, 1998.
