The modern generation makes big bets on stylish interior decoration, which concerns everything: from a small room to a separate establishment. Loft-style sex is a favorite among young people and designers because of its unpretentiousness and versatility. It is worth considering all kinds of design options and familiarizing yourself with everything in this article.
Loft style is
Translated from English, the word loft means an attic, gallery, warehouse or factory premises. All the elements are somewhat similar to the details of warehouses or workshops, but in reality, a correctly composed loft composition directly testifies to the bold taste and original sense of style.
The loft is a huge spacious room, which is illuminated by abundant natural sunlight (thanks to the huge windows). Distinctive features: high ceilings and lack of partitions. Only the bedroom and the toilet are hidden from public view.
A combination of the incompatible is applicable here. For example, shabby loft-style floors, brickwork and the latest technological advances. Vintage elements with minimalism easily find a common language. So, they often make the kitchen floor in the loft style and dilute it with minimalistic details, which not only looks interesting, but also practical.
Style features
Among the main characteristics can be noted:
- Free and open layout - a minimum of partitions and internal walls.
- High ceiling. The industrial loft in the twenty-first century is famous for the fact that light, unattainable ceilings are perfectly combined with bare ventilation, communication equipment or beams.
- Careless finish of wall and floor coverings. Loft-style walls and floors stand out due to concrete abundance, sloppy masonry, or unfinished plastering.
- Light palette.
- The presence of fireplaces and stoves. Previously used for its main purpose (space heating), but now these attributes are decorative mast-hev in the loft.
- Multifunctional furniture and stairs. High ceilings allow owners to make a study or a small bedroom on the second floor.
Also, designers conditionally divide the described architectural style into three radically different directions:
- Bohemian. The factory style is preserved, antique furniture and other accessories are added. Bohemia is supported by avant-garde paintings, sculptures, musical instruments and dried flowers.
- Glamorous. It differs in its original color schemes - pastel shades of spectral colors. The emphasis falls on lighting: design fixtures, chandeliers or LED lights. Baroque mirrors, cute floor lamps and glossy magazines will help to emphasize all.
- Industrial. Industrial loft is often used to design living quarters and cafeterias. Metal constructions, wires, functional furniture are used - those elements that completely convey the spirit of production.
Loft is unpredictable. Nevertheless, before installing the scenery, you need to take care of the basics. In this case, we are talking about a loft style field.
Concrete floor
This option is most often used. Cement always finds a place in the creation of warehouses and workshop complexes. Loft-style concrete floors have several advantages:
- arrangement of insulation;
- high strength materials;
- ease of maintenance;
- wide selection in color;
- maintainability;
- additional polishing is possible.
The flooring is able to absorb spilled liquid, which will spoil the original color. In this case, protection with transparent varnish or hydrophobizing impregnation is strongly recommended.
Deformation is also possible with heavy objects falling regularly. But this will only add authenticity to the design.
Bulk floor
A loft-style poured floor is created by using high-quality cement and polymer additives, which are distinguished by their fine structure and excellent adhesive parameters. Materials easily penetrate all bumps and crevices, eliminating an unaesthetic appearance. As pluses come to the fore:
- environmental friendliness;
- duration in operation;
- resistance to external influences;
- resistance to moisture, chemical or biological irritants;
- preservation of characteristics at temperature differences.
Installation takes place by pouring layers (hence the name). The chosen installation method provides a reduction in delamination and an increase in fluidity. Sometimes the floor is laid on the directional beacons and is later leveled by smoothing. The whole process is completed by polishing to a glossy reflection and coating with a transparent polymer.
Wooden floor
Initially, the loft was associated with a tree. Because the wooden floor is the best fit the concept of "attic" and conveys its atmosphere.
The following types of wooden coatings are used in creating the interior:
- massive board - a standard that will always be relevant;
- barn board - stylistic features and artificial antiquity;
- curved board - an innovative approach that combines the features of the first two.
The wooden floor is noted for its versatility, durability and ease of heating. It looks wonderful with carpets or even skins (preferably artificial).
Tile
Loft style floor tiles are a relatively new solution that is gaining more and more popularity every year. It is applied for registration:
- Bathroom. Attention is given to the classic options without vivid research.
- The kitchen. The choice falls on a tile with a different print, or tile with a wooden, stone and brick texture.
Ceramic granite is used to create the flooring. Due to this, the tile has several advantages:
- ease of installation;
- long-term service;
- high strength;
- abrasion resistance;
- ease of subsequent maintenance.
Thus, a loft is a style that can convincingly remain silent and scream loudly about freedom. There is no framework in the design, an oxymoron and self-expression are welcome. If life doesnβt have enough light, you can simply open the windows in the loft-style room and dance on the glossy floor.
