Potato salad: a variety of recipes

Potato is a favorite product for Russians. It can be found in various dishes. The most delicious combination of ingredients - potatoes with green onions, potatoes with mushrooms or just hot boiled potatoes with delicious high-quality butter - found their place in Russian snacks, in the first and second courses. And all because potatoes are unpretentious (can be grown in the latitudes of our country), goes well with most products. And since sour cream and mayonnaise are well suited to it, today we have a lot of salad recipes with potatoes.

In salads, potatoes go well with boiled eggs, green peas, tomatoes, onions, pickles, all kinds of meat, walnuts and boiled beef. Not bad - with radish, with cabbage, beets.

Potato salad with sauerkraut can be made with mushrooms, onions. Instead of champignons, you can put pickles or cranberries. These salads are seasoned with vegetable oil, salt.

Salad with beets and potatoes seasoned with horseradish (20 g), black pepper, salt and vegetable oil. Instead of horseradish, you can put white boiled beans and add vinegar (a tablespoon).

The most original potato salad is a salad with eggplant, tomatoes and horseradish. Dressed also with vegetable oil, decorated with greens. Even more original: instead of eggplant, put fresh cucumbers, green onions, lettuce. Potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers and red sweet pepper are also successfully combined in taste and health. Vinegar is added, dressed with oil. To enhance the taste, add greens, up to celery. Or: pickles, peas, red pepper, boiled carrots, onions; season again with vegetable oil.

If you need something more satisfying - prepare a potato salad with ham. For a pound of potatoes 200 grams of ham, an incomplete glass of olives, half a glass of wine, parsley, lemon juice (3 tablespoons) and vegetable oil for dressing.

Having eaten the fill of their favorite salads with potatoes (winter, summer), people (and not only Russian, but throughout Europe) began to experiment. The most popular “experiment” today is the German potato salad. There are also many varieties of this salad. If you take a recipe with ingredients familiar to most Russians, a salad with potatoes in German will look like this.

The main ingredient can be either salami sausage, or hunting sausages, bacon, ham, or smoked chicken, or herring. All the charm is that much is suitable for the salad ingredients. But more on that later.

Potatoes for a German salad are necessarily boiled in the peel, in the amount of half a kilogram (enough for a small family to eat enough). Then it is cut beautifully, but large enough.

We will season the potato salad with sauce: from one boiled and crushed potato, 1 cup of water at worst times, at best - broth, from lemon juice (1 teaspoon), sunflower oil (2 tablespoons), salt.

Sprinkle with black pepper and chopped green onions. Let’s brew in the fridge for an hour. If it seems a little cooked, you can add pickled cucumbers or tomatoes, green peas or canned red beans, garlic, and greens. It depends on what the main ingredient is prepared for the salad ... The meat component of the salad can be laid on plates nearby without mixing these parts.

Any salad with potatoes will provide your body with carbohydrates, satisfy the daily need for them. In general, potatoes are the healthiest food, it is not contraindicated even in acute gastrointestinal diseases. And the taste variety of potato salads will provide the need for a variety of dishes on your table.
