Do you like to paint flowers? With a few lessons in this article, you will learn how to draw a tulip quickly, easily, and naturally. You'll like it!
Lesson number 1
Draw a tulip with a pencil
For ease of understanding, we divide the lesson into 7 steps. So, make sure that you have a blank sheet of paper in your hands and a sharpened simple pencil in your hands. A good soft eraser will not be superfluous. How to draw a tulip in ten minutes? Draw for five! Surely your preparation took longer. Let's get started.
Step 1
In the center of the sheet of paper, draw the first petal in the shape of a tear. It's simple, you will succeed.
Step 2
To the left of the picture depict another petal of a drop-shaped bud. Note that they do not touch each other, but are located a little at a distance.
Step 3
Now draw a tulip petal between the two already drawn.
Step 4
Then draw the rest of the petals that are farther from the foreground. Only their tops will peek at the top of the bud.
Step 5
It's time to draw a stalk. Depict it slightly curved under the weight of the flower head.
Step 6
Back to the bud. In the center of each petal we draw veins - draw a pair of parallel lines and connect them at the top. The flower immediately became voluminous, didn't it?
Step 7
Finish the drawing with a small hatch in the shading areas.
It seems that they figured out how to draw a tulip in stages. We will increase the level of skill by depicting a tulip in color.
Lesson number 2
Step 1
Look carefully at the sample. Notice how the stem is bent, what shape the bent leaf has, what are the proportions of the bud.
Step 2
Draw a thin line, repeating the bend of the stalk. At the top, make a rough sketch of the bud. At this stage of learning how to draw a tulip, try to keep proportions.
Step 3
Lightly touch the pencil to draw the contours of the leaves. As a rule, they are straight in tulips, but are larger in the lower part of the stem, and therefore they are elegantly bent. Displaying such nuances makes the picture more realistic.
Step 4
The thickness of the stem should also correspond to the bud. It cannot be too thick, nor too thin.
It is important to place the leaves correctly. In one place they cover the stem, in another - they overlap slightly.
Step 5
In how to draw a tulip, there is nothing complicated, but in a three-dimensional drawing, as in a photograph, there are rules that must be followed. Draw the petals of the bud by lightly clicking on the pencil until you are satisfied with the result.
Step 6
Confidently press the pencil, outline the contours of the tulip and erase the unnecessary lines.
Step 7
How to draw a tulip in color? At this point you will need two pencils: pink and light green.
Circle the sketch of the tulip
with colored pencils. Erase the remains of a simple graphite pencil. So much better, right? At this stage, you are already presented with a colored tulip pattern.
Step 8
Shade the whole flower with pencils. Pink is the bud, light green is the stem and leaves. There are no shadows in the picture yet, so it is like a smoky one, only in some parts of the petals and leaves add a little more color.
Step 9
Take a pink pencil a tone darker than what has already been used, and red. Paint over the petals, paying attention to the color transition from almost white at the stem to densely red at the edges of the bud petals.
Step 10
In the same way, add shadows to the stem and leaves with a dark green pencil. The two upper leaves hugging the flower trunk, the inner sides are darker than the outer, because they have the least sunlight.
Step 11
Blend the colors with a piece of cotton wool or just with your own finger.
Now the question "how to draw a tulip with a pencil" is not a question for you! Draw, experiment, and your flowers will be perfect.
