The legal document fixing the date when Motorist's Day should be celebrated was adopted on October 1, 1980. He affirmed this holiday and decided to celebrate it annually on the last Sunday of October. The USSR collapsed a long time ago, but the decree remains in force until now. So, Motorist Day in 2013 was celebrated on October 27.
