Every person living in a modern metropolis knows that a driver's license is required to drive a vehicle . However, for different vehicles, different categories of driver's license are required . In addition, the driver is entitled to drive only the vehicle whose category is indicated in the certificate.
The following categories of driver license are distinguished:
1. Category “A” is indicated if you are allowed to drive motor vehicles, such as motorcycles. There are also certain restrictions. For example, at the time of passing the exam, the student must be at least 16 years old. At the same time, persons over the age of 14 are allowed to study. Another feature of category “A”: no exam is required in urban roads. It is necessary to correctly comply with the following standards: acceleration, slow motion, braking, snake and figure eight. All of them are performed at the training site.
2. Category “B” gives the right to drive cars, the number of passenger seats in which is no more than eight. In addition, this category allows you to drive trucks with a maximum mass not exceeding 3.5 tons, minibuses, as well as passenger cars with a trailer, the carrying capacity of which is less than 750 kg. Category "B" does not allow you to drive vehicles from category "A".
To obtain this category of driver’s license, you must take a special course at a driving school. The program includes a theoretical and, of course, practical training course, they end with an exam. First, the student must confirm theoretical knowledge, then show the acquired practical skills on the site and in the city.
3. Category “C” is necessary for driving large heavy trucks weighing at least 3.5 tons, and trucks with a trailer, with a maximum mass of less than 750 kg. This category does not allow the driver to drive light trucks and the so-called "cars".
4. Category "D" gives the right to drive all kinds of buses without restrictions on the maximum weight, as well as buses equipped with a trailer. A feature of this category of driver’s license is that the driver is responsible for many lives at once. So, to get it you need to take an enhanced security course.
5. Category “E” is a supplement. Its feature is that it allows you to drive vehicles of categories "B", "C" and "D", which are equipped with a trailer with a maximum mass exceeding the previously agreed 750 kilograms.
In this case, the category "E" may be open to any one of the previously described categories or to several. Upon receipt of this permission, in the column “special notes” on the driver’s license it is indicated for which category this permission is granted. For example, if you are the holder of rights with categories “B”, “C” and “E” and marked “E” for “B”, then you are forbidden to drive heavy trucks with a heavy trailer.
