Cotton candy is probably one of the most common holiday treats among children and adults. You just canโt buy it in a store, it is usually sold at various events, for example, in a circus, a zoo, at children's concerts, in game rooms. And in the summer, an apparatus that makes cotton candy can be found in any park that has a swing-carousel. Incredible, but how much joy can bring ordinary sugar, turned into an airy white cloud! In different countries, cotton candy has its name. For example, in America it is cotton sweetness, in France - grandfather's beard, in Germany - sugar wool, in Italy - sugar yarn, and in England it was called magic silk thread.
How is cotton candy made?

In order to make this airy treat, you need a special machine. Sugar, getting into it, is processed: it is first melted, and then poured through a sieve in a thin stream onto a cold metal cone or drum, which constantly rotates. As a result of all these processes, thin threads similar to a cobweb are obtained from it. The operator, standing behind the device, skillfully hands them onto a stick and turns them into a large snow-white โcloudโ. If you add food colors to sugar , you can get cotton wool of different colors. Advanced craftsmen who have already got used to the work of the device can even twist various shapes from sweet threads. Many parents forbid their children to feast on cotton wool, as they fear for the health of their teeth and buy ice cream in return. But if you look, then in fact in one "cloud" of cotton candy contains a maximum of one teaspoon of sugar. But in ice cream it is much more. How much does it cost as much as cotton candy? Its price ranges from 15 to 40 rubles.
