Surgut Pedagogical University (Surgut State Pedagogical University ) is a significant university in the city of Surgut and our entire country. SurGPU, in comparison with many higher educational institutions of Russia, is quite young. He began his educational activities in 1986. Now, probably, no one can even imagine that at that time the university was a small school with a limited list of specialties.

In the total number of scientific and pedagogical workers, the share of candidates of sciences is 61.68%, doctors of sciences - 12.37%.

For example, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities offers teacher education in such fields as “history”, “history and social studies”. About entrance exams
Applicants are required to take 3 or 4 exams in existing areas and specialties at Surgut State Pedagogical University. The number of entrance tests is determined by the university. All applicants without exception are concerned about information about one indicator. It is the passing grade. It is not installed at Surgut State Pedagogical University, but is formed at the end of the introductory campaign. It turns out that this is not such an important indicator, but rather interesting for applicants.
In 2017, the passing score in the direction of “teacher education” ranged from 124 to 187. The lowest indicator was on the profile “preschool education” (faculty of psychology and pedagogy), and the highest - on the profile “history and social studies” (social and humanitarian faculty). Analysis of the results of the introductory campaign in other areas allows us to draw the following conclusions:
- The lowest score was recorded on "quality management" - only 99. This direction belongs to the Faculty of Management.
- The highest score was formed on the “design” (197 points for 3 entrance exams). The direction of undergraduate studies is carried out by the faculty of socio-cultural communications. A rather high indicator was seen on “journalism” (238 points). However, in this area, which belongs to the Faculty of Philology, applicants passed 3 entrance tests and an interview.

The selection committee of the SurGPU reports the results of the opening campaign at the end of August. On the last day of summer, the “rope course” starts at the university. This is the name of the special event for applicants, which is held so that future freshmen can get to know each other, with the university and adapt to the new situation. On the “rope course”, tasks for uniting beginners are carried out. Boys and girls get acquainted with the history of the institution, its traditions, features.
The academic year is not only daily lectures, seminars, tests and term papers, tests and exams.
