In 1906, Soichiro Honda was born in the small Japanese village of Komio. In 1923, a terrible earthquake destroyed Tokyo. The Art Sokai did not survive. Almost all employees quit. Honda and one more student remained. Noticing Soichiro's attraction to technology, the owner of Art Sokai allowed the young man to design a racing car during off-hours . Soon the car, in which everything except the engine was done by the hands of a young master, was ready. Soichiro became the pilot of the created “iron horse” and won a landslide victory in the very first competitions.
