Pilgrim Puppet Theater in Tolyatti was founded in 1972. This unique theater for a long time struggled for its own premises, and with the faith and perseverance of enthusiasts still knocked out an official place in the city. Today he gathers guests from Kazan, Ufa, Omsk, Penza and other large cities. Theater History
The history of the theater began in 1972, when a group of young enthusiasts decided to start creating fabulous performances for children. However, they had to perform more in schools and kindergartens, carrying with them all the attributes of stage life. For 10 years, the theater, which already had its catchy name “Pilgrim,” could not find its home where all of its puppet characters could live. While the curator of the institution, Sergei Obraztsov, did not intercede with higher authorities. It was then, in 1983, that the theater finds a new home, its own, which to this day is located in the former Palace of Culture of the city of Togliatti.
The Pilgrim Theater in Tolyatti is very famous. In the 80s, his troupe toured extensively around the country and often participated in various competitions.
After the collapse of the USSR, the theater switched to a commercial contractual basis. Trips temporarily stopped, the repertoire was edited. In order to attract the attention not only of a young audience, but also of an older audience, new trends of modernity began to be introduced into everyday life. The theater keeps up to date, constantly improving in its art.
