Folk Star Biography: Childhood
Nikolay was born on February 21 in 1957 in the Moscow region, Ramensky district, in the village of Bykovo. At school, he was a diligent child, although not an excellent student. He loved to draw, read books, listen to the legendary “The Beatles” at that time. According to him, it was their work that became the impetus for music lessons. He was also fond of sports, like all the guys, and in his spare time he often picked up a guitar. After graduation, Nikolai studied at the Technological Institute of Light Industry in Moscow, but he could not finish it, he was expelled. Few people now know that once worked as a simple locksmith, a talented singer, beloved Nikolai Rastorguev.
Biography of the Lube Group
In 1989, Igor Matvienko finally realized his idea, which had existed in his head for several years, about the creation of a musical collective of a social-patriotic orientation with a courageous and serious main soloist. They became Rastorguev Nikolai. The biography of the group suggests that even the producer himself did not expect such a rapid increase in popularity. At the beginning of 1989 (namely January 14), the first songs “Old Man Makhno” and “Lyubertsy” were recorded, and already at the end of the year the songs “Lyube” firmly occupied the leading positions in national charts. Nikolai Rastorguev and the Lyube group immediately fell in love with the Russian listener for the unusual themes of the texts, courageous performance, mesmerizing energy. Over the three years of their work, they gave more than 1000 concerts and gathered more than 5 million people.

Nikolai Rastorguev was married twice, has two sons and a granddaughter, Sonechka. With their first wife (a culturologist by education), they lived 15 years. But once, having met on tour, as Nikolai himself said, “his” Natalia (the costume designer of the group “Architects”), he fell madly in love, filed for a divorce, and immediately married a second time. The eldest son of Rastorguev - Pavel - a businessman, the youngest - Nikolai - is still in school, sings in the choir, but has not yet decided on a profession.
