Do you know the remarkable date of July 31, 1937? On this day, Edita Stanislavovna Pieha was born. She was born in a family of Poles living at that time in France, in a mining town called Noyelles-sous-Lans. Parents named their daughter in honor of her grandmother Mary - Edith Marie. The girl’s father, Stanislav Piekha, went to the front in 1941 and did not return. Mom got married a second time and moved to Poland at the end of the war. Edita was a good student in France at school, but she did not know the Polish language at all, therefore, after moving, she was a first-year student. Only by the seventh year of study did she manage to catch up with students in the class.
The girl already at school began to show vocal abilities and first used them in a children's choir. In France, the girl studied at the pedagogical lyceum, then came to Russia to enter the University of Leningrad at the Department of Psychology.
