One of the most popular procedures in dentistry is tooth restoration. In the process of life, teeth can be completely or partially destroyed due to injuries or various diseases. Tooth restoration carries not only healing, but also an aesthetic appearance. Moreover, modern materials allow you to "work miracles." Often, restored teeth and prostheses are almost impossible to distinguish from natural teeth.
The restoration of the front teeth is carried out in two ways: direct and indirect.
An indirect method involves the use of veneers and linings. This method of restoration is applicable if the tooth has undergone minimal damage. As a result of the indirect method of restoration, the teeth acquire a beautiful appearance, become smooth. The disadvantage is that in the process you have to grind healthy tissue.
The direct method is most suitable due to the use of modern composite materials. Today, there is a large selection of them (in color and degree of transparency). Direct tooth restoration is the most gentle.
In case of destruction of the crown of a natural tooth, it is replaced with an artificial one. Such a crown is made of different materials and is a fixed prosthesis. It restores the natural shape of the tooth. Tooth restoration in modern dentistry is not a problem. The patient is offered several types of crowns to choose from: metal, ceramic, cermet. Most preferred are cermet crowns. The properties of the material make it possible to give the teeth a good appearance. In addition, cermets have a large margin of safety due to manufacturing technology.
Dental restoration can also be carried out using a bridge prosthesis. Its designs are various (removable, non-removable, cantilever), depending on how many teeth are subject to prosthetics. Before the doctor makes a decision, which prosthesis is indicated for a particular patient, and also in what way it is better to restore the tooth, the necessary examination and dental treatment is carried out. In most cases, thorough therapy is required.
Canal treatment
Inside the tooth, inflammation can develop - pulpitis. If you do not pay attention to it, then the tooth will completely collapse. The dental treatment procedure is carried out in two stages:
- Dental canal cleaning. At this stage, the space of the tooth nerve is freed from germs and affected tissues.
- Filling the internal space of the tooth with filling material.
Root canal treatment is the main therapy aimed at preventing many diseases. The main objective of the toothbrushing procedure is to remove the maximum number of pathogenic factors: nerve tissue, bacteria, decayed tissue residues, bacterial toxins.
So, filling the space inside the tooth is very important. The reasons for the need for such manipulation are as follows:
- the exclusion of re-penetration of pathogenic agents into the purified channel;
- the exclusion of the ingress of microbial flora residues from the canal into the surrounding tooth tissue.
Dental canal treatment helps the immune system in the fight against pathogenic factors that it cannot cope with on its own.
Despite the leap forward in dentistry in the treatment and restoration of teeth, it is recommended to prevent caries and other diseases. You should limit the use of too sweet, flour, fatty foods. In addition, you must constantly keep the oral cavity clean. The presence of pathogenic microbes contributes to the development of caries, periodontitis.
