The Internet is gaining more and more new users every day. Moreover, almost the whole world needs its services, connecting using various methods. One of the most popular types of connectivity is the FTP 5E cable, often referred to as twisted pair cable.
Its use in almost all large wired networks is due to the fact that with its high-quality work and stable signal transmission, it has a rather low price, which allows many Internet providers to connect their subscribers for free, without even charging for equipment. This has made such a cable ( FTP twisted pair ) the most used and popular material for organizing communications.
Usually it consists of eight cores twisted together in pairs. More precisely, inside the polyethylene sheath of the cable you can find four pairs of strands twisted together. Moreover, each individual wire is enclosed in its own braid of polyethylene. It also has special protection against stray currents and other electromagnetic effects that can occur in electrical circuits and have a negative effect on communication conductors. That is why the FTP cable has twisted pairs.
The fact is that it will not be possible to completely get rid of the influence of the electromagnetic field , therefore pairs of wires are twisted so that this effect is exerted on them uniformly, the potential difference is not created. Thus, this cable can provide stable communication without interference.
To date, there are other conductors for establishing a stable Internet connection, but the FTP 5E cable is considered the most optimal. It has a low price (unlike other, better materials) and can satisfy the need for data transfer rates of almost any user without special requests. It also has good technical characteristics that allow it to bend, fold and hold even in the most inconvenient places.
For ease of installation, all wires that have an FTP cable are marked in a separate color. Each pair has its own marker, but since the two wires cannot be the same, the second of them is painted in half, leaving the untouched part white. Therefore, removing the upper braid, you can see blue and blue-white, orange and orange-white, brown and brown-white, green and green-white wires.
There are special crimping schemes where each wire that has an FTP cable is designed for a specific place (according to its color). This greatly helps during installation and subsequent maintenance, as the fitter knows exactly what the particular wire is responsible for, what functions are assigned to it. But you can connect them in any order, the main thing is that both ends of the cable correspond to the same socket on both devices. Color marking is given only for reasons of standardization of all networks, and the wires themselves are completely identical, regardless of what color they are marked in.
