Do-it-yourself replacement of the rear racks of the VAZ-2114

The article will discuss how to replace the rear struts on the VAZ-2114. These elements have a fairly low life. The reason for this is mostly poor-quality road surface. This is especially noticeable if the car often travels on dirt roads. At one “fine” moment, the working fluid begins to flow out of the shock absorbers (they use oil). And if the racks are not repairable, they need to be replaced. Otherwise, the destruction of body elements, windows, and most importantly, comfort will deteriorate many times.

What to put racks?

The best rear racks on the VAZ-2114 will now try to determine. Factory stock elements having the numbers 2108-2915004 and 2108-2915003 are the right and left racks, respectively. The cost of such elements is about 2 thousand rubles per piece. And do not forget that you still need to buy anthers, chippers, and possibly also springs.

As for analogues, their range is very large. And these are not necessarily cheap shock absorbers, usually motorists choose better imported products. Pay attention to shock absorbers of such manufacturers:

Preparatory work

Replacing the rear struts

1. Using a jack, lift the rear of the car and finally remove the wheels.

3. There are rubber plugs under the shelf - they need to be removed with a screwdriver.
4. Unscrew the nut from the rod with the key to the “17”.
5. If the rod turns, then you need to fix it with pliers.
6. Unscrew the nut that secures the lower part of the shock absorber body to the beam. To do this, hold the bolt head with one key on “19”, and unscrew the nut with the second.

Here's how to change the rear pillars for the VAZ-2114 (the price of stock items is not more than 2 thousand rubles apiece), there are no tricks in this matter. Just pay attention to the fact that the gasket often sticks to the inside of the glass.

Installing a new rack is performed in the following order:

1. Fully extend the stem, put the casing, then the chipper and cover. Lay the pillow on top, after it the sleeve. Last you need to put the spring and gasket. It is recommended that you first pump shock absorbers - just turn the case upside down for a short time.
2. Installation is carried out in reverse sequence.
3. Secure the stem with a nut.
4. You fix the lower part of the body on the beam.
