Organosilicon paint is mainly used for coating facades. It contains an organic solvent of pigments and additives, silicone resin. This mixture can be used both for enterprises and in private homes. Helps to achieve good appearance . Organosilicon paint is designed to protect against mechanical and thermal influences, as well as prevent the ingress of excessive moisture, which over time destroys the material.
Where applicable
You can paint the surface of concrete, asbestos cement and materials that are coated with plaster, perchlorovinyl silicone paints, various mixtures of imported production, intended for the facade.
Most materials cannot withstand moisture. Water slowly destroys its structure and strength, corrosion begins to appear. The temperature difference outside, constant melting and freezing again leads to the fact that the material is consumed and destroyed. Therefore, first of all, it must be protected from water. Organosilicon paint will be an excellent option for these purposes, it is waterproof, withstands extreme temperature extremes. It is made in chemical plants, there are a lot of variations of colors, so for everyone there is a suitable shade that will appeal to visually and fit the entire building - you can choose any.
Application
Before applying paint to the facade of the building, it is necessary to carefully prepare the surface: clean it from dirt, then, best of all, with the help of an iron spatula, scrape off any irregularities. After the surface is sanded, you need to blow it with air, a vacuum cleaner is also suitable. It is in no way possible that traces, cracks, wrinkles, streaks or obvious spots of gaps in some places remain on the material.
There is another rule, the humidity of concrete should not be more than 8%. Paint is applied in several layers (mainly 2 or 3) with a brush, roller and spray, each with an hour or two difference. The first primer coat dilutes the paint with xylene to a viscosity of 40 to 50 s (according to VZ-4), and after it dries, paint is applied with a composition of viscosity from 60 to 100. Work is done with a brush or roller. If the viscosity is 50-60 s, then use a spray gun.
The mixture is made in a mixer. First paint is added, followed by acrylate oligomers and fillers. All this is mixed for half an hour, then a uniform composition is obtained, the viscosity of which is about 14-16 s.
pros
To date, organosilicon paint for the facade is in great demand due to good quality and a huge number of advantages, compared to other mixtures. In addition to protecting the material to be coated, it is able to bring positive properties.
- Helps the material to be more resistant to high or too low temperatures, light exposure or high humidity.
- It can withstand weathering.
- Excellent tightness.
- UV resistant.
- High hydrophobic performance.
- Drying in a short time.
- The ability to pass water vapor.
- Versatility of use.
- Reduces the risk of fire.
- Best paint lays on a concrete surface. Such enamel adheres to it for a long time.
Features of work
Silicone paint for the facade is quite toxic, therefore, when working with it, safety instruction should first be given. Under no circumstances should you violate the rules for working with this material. Otherwise, if it gets into the respiratory tract, it can be harmful to health, and carelessness in work will affect the result as a whole.
Unlike regular paint
The main difference is that in its composition it does not have a carbon compound as usual, but an alternation of attachments of silicon and oxygen atoms. As you know, in a chemical reaction, such compounds are incredibly stable.
Therefore, it is not surprising that during construction they prefer organosilicon paint, since it will last a very long time, preserve the excellent appearance of the building and protect it.
Paint composition
Enamel, created from two bases (silicon and air), is derived synthetically. Therefore, it is long-term. Its composition contains certain additives that help to achieve an excellent anti-corrosion effect. Also, so that the paint dries quickly, acrylic resins and ethyl cellulose are added to it.
Carbide layers are necessary in order to improve strength and durability and to avoid possible damage coming from the environment, from which silicone paint protects. The price will vary depending on these properties, as well as the color. But on average, the approximate cost will be from 120 to 300 rubles per bank. Susceptibility to temperature changes is reduced by special hardeners. Epoxy resins fight with the influence of aggressive chemicals, they will help to cope with them.
Heat resistance
Sometimes it is necessary to paint the material that is used at maximum temperatures (more than 100 degrees). For example, fireplaces, stoves, transformers.
Now manufacturers offer many paints that can withstand heating from 150 to 200 C. As for substances that withstand higher temperatures, their market here is significantly narrowing. And only silicone heat-resistant paint can remain resistant to temperatures of more than 200 C.
