A moving step in the dance - Pas glisse (comes from the French pas - step, glisser - gliding) - is called moving in ballroom dancing forward, backward and to the sides.
The sliding step looks like a wide movement of the leg, the toe gently glides over the surface. This step is also called the planing step.
Pas glisse movement description

- The leg is brought out in front of you, the toe gently glides over the surface.

- Weight is fully transferred to the foot of the working leg.
- Leave the knee relaxed.
- The left leg in the upright position is left behind.
- Gently move the left foot to the right foot in the same position.
Sliding step starting with the left foot:
- The leg is brought out in front of you, the toe gently glides over the surface.
- Then a full step is made with the same foot, stepping on the heel.
- Weight is transferred to the foot of the working leg.
- The knee remains relaxed.
- The right leg is upright and left behind.
- With a slight movement, put the right foot to the left foot in the same position.
Pa Glissa back and around is performed similarly to the classic Pa Glissa.
Notes:
- The dance step must be performed from the foot with which the first step began.
- The sock must not be torn off the surface.
- Before starting the movement you need to raise the sock on the floor. Legs should be gathered together.
- Taking a step, on the free leg, the knee bends a little, then straightens.
Pa Chasse comes from the French pas - step, chasser - to catch up.
Pas Chasser in dance is a complicated version of a sliding step (double steps). Schematically, he is depicted as a "step - to catch up - a step." A double sliding step is performed in all directions and diagonally. The foundation of Pas Chasser is the steps of Pas glisse.
Pas Chasser back and forth
- First, step Pa Glissa is taken from the right leg.
- The left leg is pulled to the right, the knees are straightened.
- Again Pa Glissa from the right leg.
Movements from the left foot, to the side and back are done in the same way.
Notes:
- The sock must not be removed from the floor.
- Movement begins with half-raised fingers.
- The step begins with a sock.
- When performing Pa Chasse in dance, the head is turned towards the leg performing the step.
Pa Glissad is a dance step, characterized by the absence of raising to half-fingers.
