One of the most interesting professional holidays, which not everyone knows about, is the day of workers in agriculture and processing industry. Its date is floating. It is celebrated on the second Sunday of October, when the crop is already harvested. Why is this day important? Because it is time for all of us to realize that the basis of our life is not oil, developed services and beautiful shops. The foundation of the normal life of society is quality food.
Once, many centuries ago, the development of livestock and crop production, as well as the processing of various raw materials, gave mankind the opportunity and at the same time motivation to embark on the path of development of civilization. The entire economic system was built on the foundation created by peasants and farmers. Are we able today to preserve these industries and pay tribute to those who work in them?

Those times were very difficult. Everyone knows that the expression “dashing 90s” is associated with the collapse of industry, a general decline and lawlessness. And therefore this holiday has such a high value. After all, the establishment of a special date, emphasizing the importance of these sectors of the economy, should have become a sign, which symbolizes not only the restoration of the country, but also the development of a full-fledged economy. Unfortunately, for a long time we did not realize this. Until the crisis revealed the realities of life.
Harsh reality
Agriculture and processing are the two most important areas for the economy of any country. After all, it is these enterprises that provide us with the most necessary things - food, clothing, raw materials for a huge amount of goods. When festivities took place in the village on the day of agricultural and processing workers in 2013, the President of the Russian Federation emphasized the importance of these industries. He recalled their difficult story. What is at least serfdom worth, which was abolished only in 1861, or collectivization, which practically destroyed the Russian village under the Soviet Union? They don’t give up, don’t leave to work in lighter areas of activity, but continue to fight to cope with bad weather, bureaucracy, and crisis. Every fall, we hear officials reporting to us that the harvest is good. Like, there is industrial growth, our grain is exported, as it was once long ago, when we fed all of Europe.
